Air/Fuel Ratio Gauge - Submitted by 2loud2k2xd Difficulty--easy to meduim Time for completion-about 1/2 hr Tools requireded: wire crimps, side cutters, electricle tape, electrical connectors, waterproof sealant, 10mm wrench, drill, a/f gauge, extra 14ga wire (10') There are two ways to wire this. One way is by tapping into a wire at the ecu(pin #43). This involves crawling under the dash. the other way is by tapping into the 1st 02 sensor factory wiring harness. This way is much, much easier 1) Disconnect the battery. note: On my a/f gauge (autometer pro-comp ultralite), there are 3 wires (red-power,
black-ground, purple-signal). I used a "key on" wire(cigarette lighter)
for power. 2) Drill a hole in the drivers side firewall next to the brake booster (I run a nitrous line thru there anyway). Feed the signal wire form the gauge through the firewall. 3) Locate and disconnect the first O2 sensor from the factory harness. 4) Cut away some of the wire loom surounding the factory harness - notice there is 4 wires, look for the green wire. this is the signal wire you want to tap into to get the air/fuel readings. 5) Hide and fish the wire to the 1st 02 sensor area. Cut the GREEN signal wire on the factory O2 sensor harness. Splice the 2 green wires and the signal wire from the gauge together. 6) Heat shrink the connector you used (i used weather strip adhesive), then tape it as well. just make sure its water tight. now. 7) Re-connect the 02 sensor. re-connect the battery. and start it up. it should be working now. thats it.
