LED Mirror Replacement - Submitted by zx2uner
Tools needed: Flathead screwdriver Philips screwdriver 10mm socket and ratchet 1. Remove the cover that covers up the mirror bolts. It pops right off.
2. Remove the three 10mm bolts and the screw. Also, disconnect the the mirror harness, just squeeze it and it should come out.
3. Once you get the assembly removed push the mirror so there is a gap like in the picture.
4. Pull on the mirror. It should release from the base. Don't pull too hard or else you will break the mirror glass (my passenger mirror released easy, the drivers side did not, as you can tell below). If it doesn't release, stick a screwdriver into the side of the mirror and pry up on one of the 4 tabs (purple circles below) and the mirror will release. If you rotate the mirror glass a little, it should pop off easier. There will be two wires attatched to the mirror for the heat. Disconnect those as well.
5. Remove the seven screws. The two wires for heat are shown above too.
6. Rotate the base.
7. Wiggle the mirror until it separates from the base. This will expose the 8th screw.
This screw was hard to get to, but the mirror can be positioned so that is accessible.
8. Push the clip.
9. Flip the mirror over and you'll see there's another clip. Push to release that one too.
10. The OEM cover should have popped off now. I fed my led wires through the blue hole and over the motor, and the purple circle is where the clip on the new cover will clip into.
11. To install the new cover, line everything up and push the yellow side in first. After that, push the green side in. The clip that snaps in is hard to snap in, push in the plastic from the inside of the housing by the hole, while at the same time pushing in the cover, and it will snap in.
