Chrome Outside Door Handles - Submitted by jjos1 Tools needed: 10 mm socket 6" extension S Screw drivers (Phillips and Flat) Tape A penny 1. Remove the door panels. For more info, see this Do It Yourself guide. 2. Carefully remove the plastic covering. Note: It tears easily.
3. Unclip the clip holding the rod that goes into the handle. After the clip has been flipped up, take the penny and tape it to your thumb. Then you can push the rod out of the holder. 4. Remove the two 10mm bolts.
5. Turn the key holder and it will fall out, then push the handle out, there's a clip at the bottom middle that holds it in place. 6. Installation is the reverse. Back Doors 7. Remove the door panels, but also remove one of the rear window switches from the door panel. 8. Remove the plastic covering. 9. Plug in the window switch and lower the window so that you can get a socket to the two bolts holding the window in place. 10. Remove the 2 bolts holding the window, after the bolts have been removed lift the window up and use somthing to hold it up. NOTE: I used a rubber padded bar clamp, you could also tape the window up, just make sure it is secure. 11. Remove the three screws around the catch on the door. 12. Remove the surrounding bolts and one nut. 13. Unclip the wire holders. 14. After all the bolts have been removed you can move the motor assembly just move it enough so that you can get the bolts. 15. Unclip the rod. 16. Remove the bolts. 17. Unclip the door handle. 18. Installation is the reverse. NOTE: Be sure to line up the window correctly so that the bolts fit back in place.
