Painting Stock (or Aftermarket) Wheels - Submitted by pancit

Materials needed:

1. TAKE THE WHEELS OFF THE CAR (you do not need to remove the wheel from the tire).

2. Clean the tire with soap and water, make sure to dry thoroughly before moving onto the next step.

3. Use Wipe Away to degrease the tire. It will dry by itself.

4. Use scuff pad to make the aluminum rough. You basically wanna rough up the aluminum. Make sure to scrub harder on scratches, dents, etc.

5. Use the tackcloth to clean up the dust from the tire.

6. Spray a coat of adhesion promoter (even strokes). Wait two to three minutes, then spray a second coat of adhesion promoter.

7. Wait another two to three minutes and you are ready to coat the wheels. When spraying it's best to use multiple light coats rather than one heavy coat. I sprayed 3 coats waiting about 2hrs between each coat.

*Optional* After spraying the wheels you may spray clearcoat for more durability and polish. If you want a duller look, I dont recommend it.
