2004 (XD2) to 2001-2003 (XD) Taillight Swap - Submitted by Hatchetman Needed: Left & Right Taillight assembly for an 2004 XD2 5 door philips screwdriver 8mm wrench (deep socket preferred) Not required, but reccomended: Bulb grease for the sockets to prevent corrosion. New bulbs (provided with the taillights in most cases). *BOTH SETS ARE 1157, although pre '04 used 1156 for the turns, the '04s do not. *Remember not to touch the bulb lens with your fingers, the oils will cause them to burn out prematurely. 1. Remove the 2 philips screws holding on the cover inside the hatch. 2. Remove the 4 nuts securing the assembly. 3. Disconnect the wiring harness. Then carefully, slowly, gently pull out the assembly. 4. I would recommend plugging the wiring harness into the new sets b4 putting everything back together, just to make sure they are functioning properly. 5. Installation is the reverse.
