Tommy 2005 Hyundai Elantra GT How long have you owned your Elantra? Almost a year. Is there anything special, unique, or different concerning the history of your Elantra? Not a thing. Picked it up on a used car lot, no idea what its history is before May 2007. Honestly, what was your intention when you bought your Elantra? I wanted an Elantra. I had a 2004 for a while and had to sell it, so when it was time to look for a new car again, the Elantra GT was near the top of the list. It met all my requirements, gas mileage, reliability, looks and potential to upgrade. What was your intention after discovering EXD (or other Hyundai forums)? I've been on car forums for years, every time I've gotten a new one, first thing I do while researching is hit the forum communities to see what's out there. Forums are about the best place to learn from people first hand. In one word describe the style of your Elantra. OEM+. Who helped modify your Elantra? Me, my bank account, and the search feature. What do you like most about your Elantra? I love the handling after upgrading the suspension. First thing I did to it, and the best. What do you like least about your Elantra? The little stuff. Things that Hyundai could have added to make it nicer. All very minor, and most of it is just because I'm a little picky about stupid stuff. What modification is next for your Elantra? Gotta keep it clean. No body kits, turbos, superchargers for me anytime soon. Only thing she's getting this year is maybe finish up the stereo, and a new set of track rubber so I can see how she does in the SCCA this season. Its not perfect to me yet, but it's getting close. Most commonly, what do people say about your Elantra? "What type of car is that?" Who is allowed to drive your Elantra? Only person thats driven it so far is me. What is the most outrageous thing you have wanted to do to your car that you have not been able to do? I'd love to be able to drop $10k and make a crazy awesome SQ stereo, ridiculous turbo engine, some sick wheels and a suspension to take on the best on the track, but alas, that ain't happening in an Elantra for me. What kind of car did you own (or drive) before your Elantra? LONG list, in decending order since before the Elantra: 1988 VW GTI, 1989 Camry, 1991 Maxima, 1985 VW GTI, 2004 Elantra GT hatch and 1991 Camry. And thats just 7 years. Realistically, what kind of car is next? If something were to happen to the Elantra tomorrow, I'd be hard pressed to be kept away from a MK5 GTI, but I could also see myself in another Elantra or maybe a Tiburon.
