2002 Hyundai Elantra GT Hatch
How long have you owned your Elantra?
Since 2002, bought it brand new replacing my old car that was totaled.
Is there anything special, unique, or different concerning the history of your Elantra?
It is lowered, has the carbon fiber hood, the Aussie side skirts, and the Canadian rear spoiler.
Honestly, what was your intention when you bought your Elantra?
Just to have a unique, sporty looking car to drive around in as a daily driver.
What was your intention after discovering EXD (or other Hyundai forums)?
I was surprised at the things you could do with the cars & how helpful everyone was. Also most of the people on EXD are a riot. That is the fun part of all the meets.
In one word describe the style of your Elantra.
Unique, but then again all the cars on EXD are a personally expression of individualism.
Who helped modify your Elantra?
Ilanpro, he is one of the most helpful people around. I just wish I lived closer.
What do you like most about your Elantra?
Again being a one of a kind.
What do you like least about your Elantra?
Being a black car it attracts large bird that like to poop on it and it stands out so well!
What modification is next for your Elantra?
I have a few things in the garage waiting to go on, I don't like to tell anyone until it is done though. Only Kenyan knows and he reminds me "hey when are you going to do...?
On a scale from 0-10, how would you rate your Elantra?
An 8.4, I dont spend enough time waxing it.
Most commonly, what do people say about your Elantra?
"Why modify a Hyundai?" Most people have no idea how easy they are to work on and modify.
Who is allowed to drive your Elantra?
Only members of my family, they know the rules and only if I tell them they can, but they don't ask.
What is the most outrageous thing you have wanted to do to your car that you have not been able to do?
I would like a supercharger or turbo but I can't justify it, I want to get 300,000 miles out of this one.
What kind of car did you own (or drive) before your Elantra?
I had a minivan that got totaled (wanted something I could haul stuff in and not be a van), but I also own a 1973 Z28 Camaro, will 282,000+ miles, a 1983 Mercedes 380 SL with 99,000 miles and a 2006 Sonata with 84,000 miles, it has a few mods on it too.
Realistically, what kind of car is next?
Tough one, I like the Sonata maybe the 2011, I also like the Elantra Touring. Could be the 2011 Elantra too...
