bdiggy 2004 Hyundai Elantra GT Sedan How long have you owned your Elantra? I bought it brand new in July of 2004. Almost 4 years now. Is there anything special, unique, or different concerning the history of your Elantra? No. Pretty much gets all it's scheduled work done and runs like a champ for me. Honestly, what was your intention when you bought your Elantra? To pay off the loan on my truck. Hyundai sent me a flyer saying they would pay off my current loan and give me a new car. Not to mention having that warranty was really nice.
What was your intention after discovering EXD (or other Hyundai forums)? Just to find out if the 18" rims I wanted would fit, honestly. Everything else just came as I looked deeper into the addiction. Not to mention i've met some really cool people who are always there to help out. In one word describe the style of your Elantra. Pimptastic! Who helped modify your Elantra? Besides myself, Pete and Swifty (yes, I let Pete touch my car.) I suppose a local sound shop that hooked up the system too.
What do you like most about your Elantra? The way it stands out against other Elantra's. There are so many bone stock one's around here, they make mine look like a totally different car. What do you like least about your Elantra? When I have to take it to the dealership. They take forever and their customer service could use some work. That and the number of interior trim piece's that rattle (love that sub!) What modification is next for your Elantra? Hopefully the EF catback exhaust. If Justin would hurry up and send his other one to Scott (heh-hem.)
On a scale from 0-10, how would you rate your Elantra? I'd say a solid 8. It's a great little car, but can be expensive to mod. That and the mileage isn't as good as it should be for a car of it's size. Most commonly, what do people say about your Elantra? "I like those 'stripe thingy's'" or "What kind of car is that?" Lately the rims have been getting quite a bit of attention. Who is allowed to drive your Elantra? That would be ahhh............... me. My wife tried it once and decided it was to much work and really hated trying to take off on hills, lol. What is the most outrageous thing you have wanted to do to your car that you have not been able to do? Nothing outrageous really. I would love to get some custom paint work done, but that's not in the cards for me or my wallet any time soon.
What kind of car did you own (or drive) before your Elantra? Before the Elantra I had a 99 Ford Ranger Flareside. I loved that little truck but it needed some serious work done and I still owed too much on her. Had to trade her in. Realistically, what kind of car is next? You know, I was thinking one of those nice new 4 door Wranglers would be great. But with the way gas prices are going, I'm thinking maybe a nice new Vespa.
