2004 Hyundai Elantra GT Hatchback
How long have you owned your Elantra?
I've owned this particular blue GT since september 2008, so one year day to day.
Is there anything special, unique, or different concerning the history of your Elantra?
This Elantra is my second one. The first one was exactly the same model and year but was black. It was totaled on I-87 in August 2008.
Honestly, what was your intention when you bought your Elantra?
My intention was to acheive what I had began with my previous car which I loved and didn't have the time to complete my project on it. I wanted to continue with that one where I left with my previous one.
What was your intention after discovering EXD (or other Hyundai forums)?
As I discover EXD I had found a huge amount of information and experienced people with the Hyundai products which was the perfect way for me to learn as much as possible on the subject, because localy in Canada there is very few sources for Hyundai.
In one word describe the style of your Elantra.
Clean & Class. (Admin note: That's two words)
Who helped modify your Elantra?
Principally my father and my uncle who has a garage for work that is less appropriate to do outside in a gravel yard.
What do you like most about your Elantra?
The interior. I really like the premium package with the blue gauge and the gray leather seats.
And the doorhandles shines of course. Those are a real eyecatcher when its dark.
What do you like least about your Elantra?
The clutch... Not getting used to that non-sporty feeling on it, like driving a delivery truck.
What modification is next for your Elantra?
What is coming for next summer is a low-boost forced induction setup. Just bought all my stuff a week ago so I'll begin to install it soon to have it ready for begining of summer 2010.
On a scale from 0-10, how would you rate your Elantra?
8. Because I'm trying to keep it clean & classy.
Most commonly, what do people say about your Elantra?
They ask me if I bought it like that from the dealer since it have a conservative OEM look, no aggressive shapes that break the car's original curves.
Who is allowed to drive your Elantra?
Myself and my father since the last time I lent the driver's seat to someone else the car ended up totaled... (my black GT).
What is the most outrageous thing you have wanted to do to your car that you have not been able to do?
Preserve it from the Canadian winter and store it away from the rust and rocks.
What kind of car did you own (or drive) before your Elantra?
I had a 1996 Dodge Neon with a Wingwest bodykit which I really loved and left it at 425000km in 2007 with the original engine under the hood which I was very proud of.
Realistically, what kind of car is next?
Definitely another four door, something with space but fun to drive, a Genesis Sedan would be the kind of car I want after the GT.
