theres a parking lot in plano over by where ultimate electronics used to be. its off of 75 and parker. excellent spot for a meet, plus theres a handful of restaurants around so food would be set too. wanna do a group-drive type thing? the highway is right there, perfect for that or you can take parker or spring creek pkwy. i'd say thats probably the best place to do all this kind of stuff. they used to have huge car meets there every thursday around 9pm (dunno if they still do that) with tons of cars from all around the dfw area

I'll drive to any of the four listed. I've pretty much always had to drive out of town to hit the meets. :D Dallas has been the place of meeting for most of our past meets, I believe though that was because of Sam and his wonderful hospitality. I have a feeling that if the meet was in Houston not many would show.

Okay peeps, heres some notice on an idea.........for those in the area and those who want to travel and help.........
Due to the dragstic catastrophe in New Orleans, Mississippi...why dont we meet, at any empty parking lot, such as the old Ultimate Electronics off of 75 and Parker, make some signs, stand around where people can see us, possibly contact a local new channel and gather items for those who have nothing in New Orleans and Mississippi..... what do you think? Let me know ASAP... and I do mean ASAP.....I know its kind of short notice but hey it would be a great way to get together finally and do something helpful at the same time.....

Im thinking this Sunday, Sept. 4 from 10-2........

well, I dont really know how to get there...I live near 225 and am near the Beltway...The mods are small. I have a Blaupunkt head unit, Pioneer speakers in door and rear deck, flame decals on hood and doors, tinted windows. Its Tidal Wave Blue. Itll be a good way to meet people dude...Hope mre of you area guyz sign up and can make it.

Interesting idea, though. I think perhaps it would be best to do a bigger meet, however. Like, say team up with local dealerships and other clubs. I'd rather have an Elantra only G2G. :) It's been a while since we've done that.

Wow, Plano is far drive, I understand that you guys dont live in South or East Texas but that is a long way to drive for me and others who live in houston to make a meet.. I dont know if i will be able to make it if that is where it will be held.. And I am down for the first of october if we can agree on another place..

the only reason i was saying plano was because the way my parents are, they wont let me spend the night elsewhere (strict parents in that sense).. so wherever i go it would have to be like a day thing instead of a night thing.. but hey if it can be within 2-3 hrs of here itd be cool

I dont like taking long trips by myself...I know I'm a wuss when it comes to driving a long wayz, but try it if you DONT have cruise control. It sux dude!

as far as the polls go.. i'd say let people pick multiple choices. some people will only want to go to one place, some wont mind driving to other places. that way, whichever gets the most votes wins. its not like a person can vote a million times for ennis and thats where we HAVE to go.. lol

It seems everytime we go to a drag strip it rains or we get too drunk to go down and run. o_o I say a nice BBQ and meet is sufficient. We don't really have enough members to get together an 'event' per se. Let's see how many people we get for the meet; perhaps we might be able to do something a little different this time.

ok i think that i would like it in either houston or dfw i mean ive been to houston this month like 3 times already im startin to feel like i live there. but if we DFW peeps have to drive i think that we should all meet up and drive to where ever it is together that way we meet eachother and we dont get bored driving by ourselves and more ppl will go. if its lets say in austin we could also "pick up" ppl in waco and any where in between here and there and caravan down there with a whole bunch a elantras lol :tongue:

ok the way i see it more than likely either dallas or austin is gonna win. why? idk.. more votes possibly? so lets try and figure out a place we can meet in each city.

TIME: ....? if its in Austin it'd be cool if it was during the daytime, as i have to head back at night. you guys can have whatever plans afterwards, as long as there is some daytime action in there too

WHAT: TX Elantra/Hyundai meet. We'll definitely hang out, probably have a BBQ, a group drive type of thing, what else?

i'm thinking that on Wednesday, September 14th we can decide which place to use. The reason being is that will give everyone enough time to ask off if they do plan on going. If there is a tie of some sort, 5 out of 7 heads on a coin will choose that place. If there is a three way tie, then we'll have to figure something out or make some type of compromise (ex. dallas, austin, and houston are tied. austin is the closest in between, so austin it is)

i'll start a thread on the 14th (or if anyone else wants to) that will have a roll-call type thing in it and if you're bringing anything, pretty much like the northeastern kids do it.

Also, to anyone in the DFW area, im getting 50 exd cards from James in a couple days. If you need any to promote, let me know and we can figure out a place to meet or i can just ship them to you (pay shipping costs please!! :))
