I have a 2004 Elantra GT with the OEM Kenwood AM,FM,CD Player. I would like to add my XM SkyFi Radio. Any help with installation would be great! How to connect FM Modulator? Does using a Modulator sound as good as going thru cassette which I don't have?
Thanks

I have XM installed on my 04 with the kenwood. The Kenwood deck has a plug for an external CD Changer. I used this, http://www.crutchfield.com/S-SKHxhGbvJ91/cgi-bin/prodview.asp?i=113CAC1AX&g=50900&search=kenwood You dont even need a modulator. And tap into your lighter for power.
Once you install it in this manner, you will have an AUX option on your deck. Where as now you probably have Tuner and CD. When you want to use XM, select AUX and you will be jamming!
Good Luck

But anyways, to answer your question, The XM's FM Modulator will sound as good or better than the tape deck thingy IF it is the in-line type. If it is wireless, no.

Thanks for the posts.
The kenwood I have is KDC-MPV622H3
Has anyone installed the XMDKEN100 smart Digital Adaptor and XMD1000 universal XM Turner?
This route would be a much cleaner install. Eliminating the SkiFi mount outside dash.
The SDA will allow the Kenwood radio to show and play XM stations.
