View Full Version : EBrake Fun
oh that things so fun, it rained tdy.... did a 180 on a 5 lane bridge (it was 12:30 or so, so noones out) also did a few sliding ones (clouds of smoke) :D wee bye bye brake pads rofl :abovelol: :abovelol:
ok back to safe driving... anyone else had fun with ebrake before?
"waits for negative comments"
i used to have fun with the e-brake all the time in my old integra. bought it for $1100, salvage title.
i guess you family is loaded, because when your axles get ****ed you can repair it on a brand new car.
oh, and not to mention damage to the rims/struts because the struts already have pressure on them from the aftermarket rims (unless they are 46mm offset)

they are 46, and why would the axles get ****ed? because of it sliding sideways?
a lot more pressure on the back axles mainly. so yeah, the sliding does damage the axles. i've saw a video a while back of a guy drifting/power sliding and lol the back axle ripped off.. though he wasnt doing it while it was wet it was dry as hell but still.. same concept

ya i wouldnt do this crap while its dry, although iv seen some nut videos where people do this like mad and **** doesnt happen... if your sliding forward im sure it wont hurt but at an angle or sideways is when it happens?
thats when i saw it happen. of course, when you think about it its just a moment in time that it was being recorded and it happened. i have no clue what he had done to the car earlier

I dunno but do you remember that white sonata video?...... with that guy almost flipping the car and **** I was waiting for him to lose something
i love that video. i still dont see how that car could take so much, but it was awesome.

I hate when you do **** like that. You're either gonna **** your car up or **** yourself up, maybe even both and I don't want that to happen. Please don't do that anymore ok honey?

That stuff is fun to do in an iced over parking lot. I moved back to texas so not many more of those around... I think the damage is likly to occur when the following happens.
Car is sliding sideways on a slick surface. Not alot of traction so not alot of side load for anything in the suspension to deal with. Then you hit a drier patch and the tire that is now a little warm grabs it...... all the momentum trying to be stopped by a tire thats sideways and locked up. It could do one of two things. Flip the car or try and rip the tire off. Both are bad.
Also the last time I was under my elantra.. call me crazy, but I didn't see an axle under the tail end of the car...... I would hope that in a slide he was counter steering so I dont see that much of an abnormal load on the front tires where the axles are, but just to clarify... am I missing something?

yeah i'm one for the snow!!! as far as anything breaking...i dont really think so...is it possible yeah...but not like what was stated above....
how do after market rims affect the axels?? unless you had crazy amounts of offset...like -42....but then it would be on the knuckle and hub
like i said its been a while since i last saw that video (4+ years).. i figured whatever ripped off may have been an axle, but it could've been something else.

I think it CAN happen but the chances are low I mean we'v all seen tons of video's of people using e-brakes handbrakes w/e and usualy the biggest problem is if they slide into something damaging rims, and other parts of the car if you ever do i make sure theres lots of space between you and anything really
You're an idiot.
damn took awhile for someone to say that, go mike

You crazy?
A ****ing BRIDGE. And you're younger than me... I've been driving for 2.5 years and it's not enough to make me control a car under those circumstances.
Good thing you didn't swerve and fly off the bridge. Nice one. And you already screwed up your steering last time by pulling off a crazy trick and crashing into a curb...
I think it's time for you to stop doing stupid **** on the road. You have a family and a woman looking out for you... Trust me, when I lost control of my car a couple of weeks back, it was crazy... That's when you realize a few things in life... We always take things for granted, and we realize their true value when they're not there anymore (like an arm or a leg man, you gotta watch yo *** bro.)
If you ever stop logging in to EXD, we'll all know why  :(

yeah..large open parking lots are the place to do that.
though I do put my crappy tires on when I plan on doing that.

i done it a many times( in mine and friends car), sliding corrners, pull the brake at the right time and give it alittle bit of gas, i got the hang of it, i dont see how you could flip teh car in an open space tho, i dont do it anymore because of tires, they cost too much,.......but it is fun :D

Only time i use the ebrake is in the winter to play or when driving and i am being tailgated. kind of neat to watch people crap their pants when you grab the ebrake at 30-50 mph. they quit tailgating real quick. :D
