OK - It's all official
The GB is now on :thumbsup:

These lenses will be made in BOTH blue and clear so whatever you are after it will be catered for

I will have a set for test fitting hopefully by Friday next week
When i have these i will post pics for valuational purposes both installed and by themselves

PRICING

These items will cost $30US+ shipping a set - That's for both left and right lenses

UPDATE

If we have more than 10 sets sold price will come down to $25US :)

These lenses will clip straight into your door trims WITHOUT any modifications neccasary as they are manufactured from a mould that is getting made this week from my lenses
This means either though lenses are different colour they will have the EXACT same pattern and look as your factory originals

EXPECTED DATE

As mentioned i should have first set for trial by end of next week - Friday hopefully
After the initial inspection and test fitment if all is well they will be put into full swing and we should start seeing them within a week after that
So on this note i'm going to say roughly 2-3 weeks from now and we should be nearly ready to ship

PAYMENTS

There will be no money getting sent until i have these items in my lil paws as this will save any anguish that might occur if there is any delays
When payment is due i'll PM everyone my PayPal details (if i can remember them myself?)

SHIPPING

For shipping purposes i think it would be best to find a mutual member/person over there to accept responsibility to despatch these on once they get there - This would be the most cost effective way but if you guys disagree then i'll have to taylor quote each individual with a shipping cost to there door

I'm not sure on costs for individual shipping but in theory it would be much cheaper to send 1 package than say 10 or more

If they were sent to snowman then you'd have to arrange to either pic them up from him or have him post to you (assumeadly at extra cost but would have to cheaper than me sending them from here)

OK - Just had quick look at Australia Post website and a package sent by air mail that weighs 5kg will cost $78.50AUD $54.05USD

I would be VERY suprised if our package would weigh anywhere near this so this is worse case scenario i would think
This will also have the lenses there in around 3-8 days after posting
I'll hunt around here for a box big enough to ship them and weigh it and when i get test lense this week i'll also weigh them to figure out exact weight so i can get you all firm price

I would say if you put clear ones in with high intensity LED bulb then it would shed a hell of a lot more light on ground

Couldn't make a test blue set as he has to order the pigment for them

i was going to paint the inside bit behind lense bright white and put a blacklight in there so it would come out purple

As stated if there weren't here by today i was going to drive out there and get them - Which i have done :D

I have taken pics of these and they will be posted up here as soon as photobucket work out there problem on site - for some reason i can't upload at moment :mad:

What i can tell you though is they have turned out awesomely
When i held them side by side you couldn't tell them apart besides one being red and other clear

Holding one in my hand as we speak and i can only describe as BEAUTIFUL :tongue:
The underside has the same texture and pattern as original and the top side is silky smooth and very shiny

Will post pics as soon as i can

So now i need to know who is in and who is out - These will be ready for postage early August in either clear or blue

After Dave looked at my car again today and noticed how big the holes were where these clip into he is going to make the mounting lugs a lil thicker - So infact they should be better than standard

No money will be sent until i have them here - That means i will be paying for these upfront so there will be NO delays on shipping after i gather everyones money
I think this is best option as last thing i or you need is delays after you've paid your $$$

When time comes in early August when these are all ready i'll supply PayPal addy

OK i didn't get to post office today as i'm not feeling best - Someone gave me flu :(

So what i did was get onto Australia post website and use there postage calculator

AIR EXPRESS - Delivered in 3-10 days

750g - 1000g = $22.50AUD $16.46USD
1750 - 2000g = $42.50AUD $31.10USD

Now i have no idea on what these are going to way so can't give definate price as of yet
What i will do is take a lense to friends house and weigh it up - Times that by how many there will be in parcel and allow 500g for wrapping etc
I think i can say with confidence it won't be anywhere near 2kg though

Letting you all know exactly what he told me so there's no confusion between anyone
He can only make 1 pair a day out of moulds hence why taking so long, if 1 of these pairs don't come out right then there is a day lost
Saying this when your lenses do arrive you can be assured of there quality as he is inspecting each set personally as they come out of moulds for any defects
I know this means there will be a lil timely delay in shipping but if everyone is ok with this then we'll be fine

I will be picking the first 10 sets of clear up hopefully this weekend and posting pics so everyone in on this GB can see first hand that everything is happening

Rang him today and was informed that all he had to do was trim around the mounting plugs on the clear items and there done
So said he would try get this done tomorrow if not early next week

Still waiting for blue pigment to come in as it's coming from overseas somewhere
Will be talking to him again face to face very soon so will see how long till he expects pigment to arrive

I was talking to another Hyundia supplier (named removed to protect the hated<grin> ) who tried was explaining all the obsticles <sp> encountered when trying to get a small quanity of items together. It is amazing, you are actually not doing bad, even thought it is "just" a plastic lense, who would have thought of all the things that got in the way.

David went through all the lenses for a final inspection before packaging and a few sets were discarded for couple air bubbles so he will be replacing these in next few days with ones in perfect nick as we expect :)

Whilst talking to David yesterday he still wasn't sure when the pigments were supposed to arrive so he was going to chase his supplier up to try and get a confirmed supply date and will let me know when i go there mid next week

I'll definately let everyone know when they get here, but as of right now they haven't arrived. Whoever mailed them didn't send them on a boat, did they? Because, that's the only way I could imagine it taking so long. I know when I priced out my floor mats to Puerto Rico that they have a boat shipment available which supposedly would take 1-2 weeks. From Australia I'd guess it could be as many as 3 weeks. I don't know.

2XDreme came over to the Newtiburon.com forums, and started the same group buy there, even showed his initial post in this thread as an example. His screenname is Whizzn, and he has disappeared from the forums over there too.

I don't think anyone sent him money yet, but I have sent him MY lenses to make moulds from.
He seemed like an ok guy based on the PMs we had about sending them to him and the prices he would get. I have his name and address from that exchange, so I looked up a phone number every way possible.
Best luck I had was a Google result (of the exact address) from a page for something non car-related, ..and the name was different.
He may be new to the address since the person who's name I found moved out...who knows.
I left a message or 2 on the answering machine I got (with the default outgoing message, not a person's voice). I have heard nothing back. No email, no PM, no phone call ...nothing.
I registered on this site just to track him down, as he had posted much more recently than over at NT.com. I have IMd with SuperGLS and he has no leads either.
I read here that he claimed to be a truck driver who apparently goes away for chunks of time....

I am the type of person to give someone the benefit of the doubt, and trust before condemning.
Make no mistake, I'll be pissed if he's taken off with my lenses, and other people's money etc...
If what he claimes (about being a truck driver) is true, I do not feel he should be offering this, OR< at least not without warning us up front that it may take an inordinate amount of time to do these lenses. Definatly biting off more than he can chew by opening this up to involve so many people:

I can vouche for 2xDreme. I dont know him personally, but he helped me out quite a bit when I was starting up my site. We used to talk quite a bit on AIM and I feel I got to know him pretty well, but due to the time difference I havent had a chance to talk to him much. i lost $220 on some clear corner lights for a mazda 323 like 2 weeks ago,. this ghuy is located in nigeria and never paid the actual money, he sent me a fake western union confirmation email so i went ahead and shipped him the lights, and now that i tried emailing him, the emaile=s get sent back to me saying account not active.

I got someone on the phone number i looked up for him. She has nothing to do with this guy, but was a great help and looked up whatever she could since she's local (around the corner from the shipping address he gave me)

So I looked him up in the phone book and there was only a mobile phone number as a contact which is 0419 439 881. I don't know how the mobile system works between different countries, but I hope that this is a help.

Oh, speaking of different colors, where did you get that bulb. I have bought color bulbs before but they fade out. Do you know if that bulb will fade out? I just had a difficult time finding purple film :(. But the bulbs I bought for my interior were purple and have faded out.

Maybe I can paint it? I would hate to do that but what other options do I have?

That really does look like its from a light fixture, but im not 100% sure..... He did not use a bulb it is a led which wont fade out like bulbs, go to superlumination.com to get it (168, 192)

yeah its at home depot it should be (at least at the depot i work at) around where the ceiling tiles are there are different textures for it too but that one is close to oem.

Here's the thing. If you guys believe you have been ripped off, here is whom you should contact. As it is in the USA and all over the world, if you have your receipts and believe you have been wronged...contact the police. Include a link to this page. They will take care of this very quickly, I believe. I had a friend go to Australia, the cops there DO NOT mess around. I mean he left his plate # right on the "For sale" page on ebay. Plate # XQG363
