From TCC:

About 240,000 Elantra compacts will be recalled by the Hyundai Motor Co. for an airbag problem, the South Korean automaker said this week. A computer problem with its restraint system could improperly identify a child seat in the front passenger position as a seated adult, leading to deployment of the airbag in a crash and potential harm to the child in the seat. The vehicles recalled are from the 2004-2005 model year. Hyundai reports no injuries nor any crashes as a result of the flaw. The vehicle repairs will be completed for free.

--------

Expect letters in the mail in batches like Hyundai always does. I'm sure it's a quick fix.

Also, why would you put a child seat in the front?

Yea that "passenger Air bag light" above my headunit console is sorry to put it bluntly "retarded". Sometimes i says Off when someone is sitting there, and other times vice versa... I really don't know what the point of it is.

All depends on how much the wiegh and how hard they sit in the seat. I showed it to my friend on my 04 so he picked him self off the seat and the light came right on. You would think the airbag would also activate if the Belt is in use.

Hmmmm I've never received any recall letters from Hyundai. I'm pretty sure they are in no danger of litigation in Korea so they don't bother. I suppose driving in Korea is already so dangerous that anything that doesn't make your car explode isn't really worth worrying about. :)
