View Full Version : Dirtiest part of the interior...
Well, besides the driver, the dirtiest part on my car was the damn cieling. I can't believe how much dust and dirt was up there. Just go try this and see if you think i'm kidding. Take a paper towel. get it wet. Squeeze as much water out as you can and then just go over your cieling, specially near the edges.
I guess I should stop driving with my windows rolled down.

My roof is bad too, the one time I had these nylon straps wrapped around the car and through the car doors, well the rain got soaked up into the celing through the nylon and it's kindof looking bad. My parents had bought this Steamer (http://www.canadiantire.ca/assortments/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=84552444328 1472&FOLDER%3C%3EbrowsePath=2534374303517494&FOLDER%3C%3EbrowsePath=2534374303517515&FOLDER%3C%3EbrowsePath=1408474396670116&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=1408474396670116&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=1408474396670271&bmUID=1127089512842) and I have thought about using it, but haven't been brave enough yet.

go to the auto parts store and buy a can of "dry clean". i use this on every car detail i do on the roof/headliners.
steamers may cause the headliner material to break up from the water.

Mine looks and feels clean, but perhaps it isn't?
If nobody sits in the rear (leather) seats for a long time and you drive with the windows down they get really dirty. Of course I don't ever clean them, so that could be it too.

I use a deep cleaning machine on my upholstry, it takes out alot of dirt and crud out from the seats and carpets no problem, makes the upholstry look new and smell nice and clean (it even got out permenant marker and dried on soda stains). After reading what 2loaud says about the cieling liner breaking up, I would go with his suggestion instead of trying a steamer or even my deep cleaner on it.

I tried to find dry clean at Canadian Tire, but couldn't. Can you provide any more info about this that might help me find some?
Thanks!

This is probably another hunt for a product only sold in the States. Next time I'm in Walmart I'll look, but they usually don't carry as much as our Canadian Tire stores do.
Skilless, try calling your local NAPA store and see if they have it. I got some polish compound from them that Canadian Tire didn't carry.

It's better not to wet the paper towel cuz then you might have the dust set-into the headliner. It happened to me in a small spot. i also tried a vac but started to scratch the headliner so I canked that idea. the best thing to do is get a dry piece of paper towel...You migh get dust all over you car but that you can vacuum :D

Still no luck finding "Dry Clean", including online. I can't find a single web site that stocks a product called that, including walmart or kmart's US web sites. Is the product actually called something else?
The closest thing I found was Dry Foam (http://www.lanescarproducts.com/dryfoamupcle.html).
If anyone could supply a link to the product online that would be very helpful.
