check this out

it seems the weapon r shortie made more power than and AEM cai.
i dont really trust it cause it was done by the manufactrer but it is an SAE corrected dynojet
and the car had headers and exhaust i think.
red- weapon r
purple- stock
blue- AEM cai
what do you guys think of this, i think its pretty interesting. supposedly the weapon r intake gave 10 wheel horsepower!! and it is a v6

it IS a v6, says it in the first line LOL and you can see the engine itself...
interesting, but then again, who has a v6 elantra? hmmm.

well the whole point is that there was alot of conflict back in the day as to whether the weapon-r is worth the money or not, people who know what im talking about will find it interesting
and KEWLKAT guess what, a short ram for a v6 and an i4 are still both just a short ram, and this intake being tested will fit our cars, so it is relevant information thanks for trying to make me look stupid or something....smart ***

Just to clarify... you made YOURSELF look stupid... Kewlkat just pointed out the obvious. :) J/k
I'm still trying to figure out why their meter is reading 700 to 800 ft/lbs torque.... Can someone help with that one?

I was wondering about that too jfreak.
btw godisinthetv... i wasn't trying anything man, just had to point it out so a newbie won't find this thread one day and read your first post, thinking that, like you said, the weaponR could give an elantra i4 10 whp...

Geez... who decided to post the graphs as bitmaps on newtib? Even over high speed at work it took 2 minutes to load the dyno graphs!
I was wondering about the 700 and 800 ft-lb of torque, too...

lol shows how reliable the information really is

how did i make myself look stupid? the v6 comment? i wasnt sure, i didnt read.
and you stay the the hell out of it i was matching his smart comment with one of my own, no hostility, i like Kewlkat. no one is talking to you. ;)

yeah i was wondering about that too, but it is an SAE corrected dyno. but the numbers are ridiculous.

another thing i noticed... how come the torque drops THAT LOW just before the redline?

maufacturer dynos are always soo weird, its never like "okay...dyno says this" no, its always "well...i dunno this is weird and thats weird and why does this say that" never just a straight-up accurate dyno....like the evo-fusion dynos...i think they do it on purpose lol.

lol forget about ef dynos... torque and hp dont ever cross like they should :)
i was also suprised that in those sheets the tq an hp are in different cases, maybe they wouldn't have crossed that way either LOL
damn manufacturers trying to prove things that dont exist haha
btw i always thought intake dynos sucked because its WAAAAY different than a closed hood with a hot engine...

yeah man that is another HUGE factor definately, cause, yeah the shortie will do good with the hood open but what about 10-15 mins later when the engine is hot and the hood is closed, totally different story. so i guess in actuallity the dyno mean dick, but when you first start the car youve got a couple extra horse for like 10 mins. lol

another sweet marketing scheme by these cool dudes. first they give the product a ridiculous name, then they give some absurd dyno claims to go with it.
test it yourself at the track...such a HUGE claim would result in a rather large MPH increase.
i think someone just had a lot of spare time and a blank dyno template on their computer so they went into paint and made some lines :)

since i'm going to dyno my stock xd and I'm also going to buy this Hyped up Intake and see if those numbers similar to the tib will result in our little 4 bangers.
I'll keep you guys posted.

like kewl said...its weird looking and doesnt match up....
CAI never make as much as SRI just because the CAI is not geting cold air...with the hood closed the SRI just sucks in hot engine air....not cold like the CAI on the move

I know a few people who have the weapon r cai they say one size fits all ( i think) they had alot of trouble installing it. And that foam filter is crap IMOP. I'd rather buy a no name one off ebay for half the price.

hey, ive had my weapon R dragon sri for 3 years now. paid 160.00 new when i didnt know about anything. i love it. and the foam filters you say are ****....well i beg to differ. my kit came with 2 reuseable filters and they still look brand new. properly cleaned and oiled and they will last almost forever.
