Hi guys. I just wanted to let you know that I received an email from Fujita Air http://www.f5air.com/ and they want to do a Cold Air/Short Ram Intake system for the 04 and Up Elantras. Anyone who has a stock car and wants to help get one developed can contact Ryan at info@f5air.com. They will receive a free intake system for their vehicle for their time if they bring their vehicle down. Fujita Air is located in Temecula, CA.

Wow. These look VERY NICE. I hope someone can get in contact with them because this looks like a great oppurtunity.

(Of course, this one looks like it would be quality and thus expensive and then all you Accord eBay CAI people will complain it's too much, but that's how it goes).

Thanks for posting this GirlieChic.

Thanks for the info.
I live in NY so i can't really go to where they are located
But i contacted ryan and told him that if this goes into production, I will be sure to purchase one.

Did they get back to you?

Yeah, but they need my car for the whole day and I have no way of accomplishing that. Plus I'm moving soon, so it just didn't work out. Anyone else from SoCal should jump on this.

think for a second there. there ARE couplers for the maf already. probelm is: for 01-03 we will be missing that length where the MAF was supposed to be... we will have to purchase a separate piece of tubing. that is just stupid to have an extra weak link in airflow in your intake system when you can avoid it from the beggining...

These look very high quality. Someone in SoCal PLEASE jump on this! Maybe they'll start development for the 01-03 Elantras if they see there's enough interest. ;)

Good news! One down and one to go. Fujita got a hold of an 04+ model XD2. So we should hear something soon on that. Now if someone wants to help get him an 02-03 model everyone should be happy. Shout out to all socal XD owners to get their 02-03's to them.

hey girliechic how are you associated with Ryan from Fujita. I tried to propose an idea for him due to the fact that I live in Texas, but unfortunately it fell through. So how do you know so much about Fujita.
i did email Ryan suggesting that the intake be sold at a reasonably price but he said it would probably range around 300 or so.

I'm not associated with them in any way. My BF uses them for his intake on the 06 Eclipse. They put out an outstanding product and I wanted a professional solution for my car. I have the ol' ebay accord hack for now, but I love my car and I want a real intake system for it. I like Fujita because they take great pride in their product and they actually respond to emails with a personal reply. There aren't many companies that do that. They also stand behind their product so if you have any problems, they will work with you to have them resolved quickly. Some of the bigger companies out there could learn a thing or two from Fujita.

Just curious -- How many problems could you have with some pieces of bent aluminum tubing, at least after the initial install? I mean, it's not like you have to program the thing, replace batteries in it or something.

A few...check engine light could come on. Vacuum leaks. Intake could yeild a power loss instead of a power gain. Mounting problems. There are a few problems that could happen and although intakes are fairly simple in design, I'd rather have something tested and proven in my car.

I agree with Kylemorg- how many here have had an intake crisis??
I dunno- if you want to spend the extra $$ on an intake "meant" for our car, then by all means...
but I'd venture to say that accord intakes have been "tested and proven" for Elantras by many members here.
Don't get me wrong, if I lived in SoCal, I'd be there right now if it meant getting a free intake... but given the choice of paying $300 for an intake "meant" for our car and gain maybe a couple of HP over a $15 accord intake, I'd rather save the $285 for gas.

How could an intake like that cause a vacuum leak?

well i'm probably too late but I emailed him to see if he still needs a car.

edit: I got a reply message from Brian Dawson and it looks like they're still interested. I'll give them a call tomorrow.

Keep us posted. Ryan told me they got another one, but they probably want to test more than one. It's all good as long as your getting something and we're getting somewhere.

I was supposed to bring my car in last monday, but we had to push it forward to this coming monday due to some sema cars that still weren't ready... I'll keep everyone posted.

Looks like Fujita added the SRI for the 04-06 Elantra on their application list (SR-2103). Like I state in my previous post, it would be no problem using their 04-06 Tiburon I-4 SRI application for the Elantra. The CAI ,on the other hand, is a different story. It may need some tweaking.

11-09-2005, 08:06 PM
ok, so I took my car in last monday to Fugita to get my intake make... it's gonna be SRI all the way. He said he couldn't get anywhere near the HP gain from a CAI that the SRI was giving, i guess that was the same situation that the tib has too. These findings back up the dyno's that I've already ran with both setups. So in about 2-3 weeks I'll have the SRI... pics to come!

velantra
11-09-2005, 09:46 PM
Good to hear. I plan on getting the SRI. Does that mean Fujita won't produce a CAI for the Elantra? Did you see the dyno results? If so, how much more HP was the SRI making compared to the CAI setup?

still haven't had a chance to call them up. so they don't need anymore cars?

XavanteX, how long did you have to leave your car with them?

XavanteX
11-10-2005, 04:42 AM
the dyno added around 8HP and I have completely stock exhaust. I know he routed a CAI and a SRI, so I'm sure they'll make both... it was just the SRI that made the most HP on our 4's. I just left it for the day
