yes yes very paranoid rofl, I want a new horn for traffic because Iv almost been run off the road 3-4 times in the past few weeks and they fail to hear my dinky little horn, and while Im at it I might as well put it on the alarm. If I was that paranoid I wouldnt drive it and put new mods on it ;)

I had a stock alarm.. And I also HAD a nice system before this one. One was stolen, both were replaced.
Go for the new alarm if it makes you feel better.

I was wondering, if I get a new horn can I make it so that's what is sounded when I set the alarm on my car? I really hate that annoying pussy squeek/chip sound it makes...

Putting a new horn in is easy. Just one bolt and two wires.
As for making it work with an alarm, someone else will have to help out.

it's real easy to hook up any horn to the stock alarm, you just need a $4 30A automotive relay. in fact, you might not even need that... let me set those gears in my head in motion... this could turn into one of those "free mods"...

okay, i figured it out... you need TWO relays, then everything you need to wire up is behind the dash. let me know if you want to go ahead with this and i'll hook you up with the instructions.

Hook me up with instructions on how to disable the "chirp" that the alarm makes and how to make the horn honk instead of that chip ;)

it's practically the same DIY. dizzie, what you're asking involves only one additional wire to be snipped.

Really? What wires would these be...? I'm really interested in having that really pussy sounding chip go away. Either change the sound of it or make it honk the horn, that would be much better... :)

James and I put the Fiamm Low-Tone "Freeway Blaster" horn in my car today.. It doesn't exactly sound like a "freeway blaster," but it is a huge improvement. I took pics and he'll be writing up a DIY for it soon. A definte must-do mod if you don't want to sound like a pussy when hitting your horn... :)
