I love the car; frustrated with the dealer and the company. Since I first started thinking about buying a car in June, they were offering $1250 cash back on the Elantra. I finally get my sh!t together this month and guess what: incentive is down to $500. I'm just as mad at myself though; I should have bought earlier.
The dealer was weird, too. I kept saying "I want floor mats." Every step of the way: "I want floor mats." The final paperwork is written up and guess what? No floormat cost included. So I ask whether they are giving me them for free and they answer that, well, maybe they can give them to me at their cost. As an option on the car, they are $75, I think. Their generous offer is selling them to me at their cost. Mighty big of them. You would think it was, with how magnanimous they were about it. Like it was some great deal. But they said they would have to ask the parts dept. what their cost was. I had to leave to get somewhere and the salesman said he would let me know what their cost was.
I bought the car Friday, went back on Saturday with a friend to pick up my other car, and asked the salesman what the cost was. He still didn't know. Monday comes and goes- nothing. I finally decide he's not gonna call, so I go to the local dealer (the car I bought was at a dealer 40 miles away) and decide the heck with it and bought the mats for eighty something dollars.
The next day, salesguy calls back and says even though their cost is $73 and change, he's willing to give them to me for free. So I take back the mats to the other dealer and get a set of sh!tty cheapo mats at Wally-World for $4 until the mats come in and I can get there to pick them up. 40 miles away. For free. Well, not exactly free; at about $.10/mile for gas, it's gonna cost me $8 round trip.
I know, not as bad of a problem as the guy who got rear-ended and is without a car, but that's my beef. So there.
