some shops wont do stuff like that...a mom and pop shop is your best bet. a lot of major corporations can get in a lot of **** (ie BIG fines) if they modify the emissions system. taking out stock manifold and replacing w/ headers ( which = no cat) is very risky on thier part. if you get caught and tell cops they did it, they will be going after the shop

are hotshot headers hard to install yourself? well except for O2 sensor relocation, i could have a shop do that.

The Hotshot header comes with an O2 relocation kit, i.e extension wires, so you could do the whole install.

you know what i did when i got my header...i put that ***** on myself..i didnt want to wait... i was hungry for power..i got a hack saw and chopped off the stock exhaust manifold connection to the rest of the exhaust...chucked the stock manifold..slapped on the header...and drove a round illegal and loud as a f*ckin blown 60's big block for about a week, settin off alarms and makin the nieghborhood children run inside crying..my god it was loud i knocked off about 25 years of hearing just idling..i was so lucky not to get a ticket..but a one man shop did an entire custom cat back for me with one cat still on there(didnt want to lose his job and all being a one man shop)

Does rx7 mean adding a bung for the 2nd O2 sensor?

IMO... I wouldn't trust the grease-monkeys at Meineke to install anything unless you personally know someone at the shop.

Is there a local speed shop you could have do the work, or a non-chain exhaust shop up there? You're more likely to get someone who knows what they're doing at one of those places. Meineke might hire anyone who puts in an application, regardless of their training, skill level, etc.

You don't want someone snapping the exhaust manifold's bolts off in the block!

ya theres a speed shop, i could go see him.

as for the evofusion headers, i dont know if im wrong, but could you use just the header itself and not the flexpipe and use the stock, so you keep a cat?

I would rather have a 4-2-1 header since i have an auto.

The first cat is welded onto the factory manifold and that's what does most of the catalytic work and will cause a CEL if it's not there. See this thread:

http://www.elantraxd.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11069&highlight=shorty+header

You'll most likely end up with a CEL from an aftermarket header. Do a search for words like 4-2-1 and header and CEL and hotshot and you'll find tons of info, experiences and opinions.
