i did smething today that i have been planning on for a wile and just want some opinions on wether it was a good idea or not..ive got the sr 4-1 header..and a full exhaust..with the stock cat..i took the cat off..rammed a 2/1/8 inch pipe(i think thats the size) in the middle of it becasue i cant weld and dont want to mkae new flanges and pay someone to put a pipe in place of the cat and weld an o2 bung in there so for 7 bucks i did this..and i dont want to spend money on a high flow cat..i flared out the end of the pipe so when its attached to the header there wont be a large restriction..i put the smaller pipe in there because some guy told me that smaller diameter piping at the front of the exhaust helps a little with torque?? well i put it all back on and i definetly notice a difference because it seemed like the cat was canceling out the benefits of the header..and tomorow i will hook up the 02 simulator i got and there will be no more engine codes baby?? and i beat a mini cooper the same day (not the cooper S lol) so does anyone think it was a clever idea or just plain redneck??
