Well, today I washed my car with some Meguiar’s car soap, cleaned the wheels with an all-wheel cleaner, applied Wolfgang paint sealant, used Stoner's Invisible Glass on the windows, and cleaned up the interior a little. It took about 2.5 hours to do all that. It would probably be even more reflective if I had been more thorough. But I'm pleased with the results...

I saturated this picture a little in Photoshop...

I'm not a detailing expert, but I was inspired by one:

This Wolfgang sealant is applied pretty much like the liquid Meguiar's yellow wax I have. But it should protect the paint for longer, and won't attract dust like wax does. So I think I'll probably use sealants instead of waxes from now on.

I use a teflon based polish that also has some carnuba wax in it. This is still a wax, but it has other things in it that make it last longer.

Looks really nice man!

In the city I live in, in between 3-5 a.m., we are not allowed to park on the street so every night I park my car in my neighbor's driveway across the street. Unfortunately she has her sprinklers set to go off in the morning, right before the sun rises so now the left side of my car is full of water spots that I can't remove with regular washing. :(

Thanks.

Water spots are the devil on a black car... of course they're not as visible on a white car but it'll be interesting to see what it looks like after some rain. I'll have to wait and see how well this sealant does its job.

I wish I had pics of my car. I spent 4 hours cleaning it last Saturday.

I washed it.
Turtle Wax Polished it twice.
Applied 2 coats of Turtle Wax hard carnuba wax. (protect for the next few months of winter and salt.)
And then one coat of Meguire's NXT wax.

Its sooo clean and shiny.
