I found this device online ... it is a plug-in fuel tuner for my 2006 ninja 636R superbike...

Here is the thing.. it uses direct-plug connectors for the fuel injectors.

The harnesses just happen to be basically identical to our stock injectors.

This device uses a simple 3 dial configuration to alter the fuel curve under all driving conditions and rpms.

it is not boost dependent or rpm dependent... it is basically the same as the Split Second ARC1 or ARC 2 fuel tuner that I have on my XD ..

except that this hooks into the injectors directly instead of cutting into the MAP sensor...

here is a link with some info ... I figure that nobody will ever try this on an XD but If someone is looking for something different to experiment with or something considering that this mod can be done without any cutting or splicing it could be useuful for people who don't want the dealer to know a fuel controller was used + it can be easily removed.

here you go:

and here is a link to the vendor online... this price is like in between what i've seen in other stores, ebay has it for like $ 200 or so ...

Hmmm... very interesting!

So why aren't you going to try it on your injectors and see what happens?

I want to get it for my bike..... I already have the ARC1 fuel tuner so I don't really need anything else since i'm currently running NA... however, this mod will work for NA cars like how I use the ARC 1 ..

It will also work for boosted cars but like I said before, its not boost dependent, so if you set it with say, 10 psi and it works good, then you want to run 15 psi, you might want to richen it up on the mid/high settings to add the extra fuel required to balance out the a/f ratio.

Darn... if you lived closer, and if those harnesses plug right in to the XD's, I'd love to try that out on my XD when you get it! That would probably work perfectly with the water injection, since I want to lean out the Fuel to Air ratio across the board. I can't justify spending $200 without knowing that it will work for sure, though.

Hey, any chance you could temporarily send it to me once you get it, if you won't be using your bike for a few weeks? I'd love to try it, and I'd return it to you after testing it.

Isn't the ecu going to ultimately override any adjustments?

the ecu has the ability to override the the settings however.

This device does not alter the map signal at all.. it actually intercepts the injector pulse...

the ecu will still be able to read the leaner/richer condition and then alter the injector pulse accordingly so it will override this device.

If you read my other post about using my fuel tuner to save gas... my conclusions were that the car ran leaner with it only on deceleration ... the acceleration was only slightly affected and the ecu has mostly corrected for it on its own... I still notice a bit more crisp throttle response because the ecu has to actually read the o2 sensor signal before it can trim ... so it does actually alter the engine power output :)

Darn... :(
I guess we're back to an O2 sensor signal modification again, then.

that has been the one to solve all along.

if someone has the ballz to hook up a safc or a standard fuel tuner to the o2 sensor output wire then it would be worth trying ! LOL

Will this do anything

piggy back (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/perfect-power-smt6-smart-tuner-piggyback-ecu-standalon_W0QQitemZ8006684101QQcategoryZ33596QQrdZ 1QQcmdZViewItem)

any gains from this and is it hard to hook up

the smt-6 works. a lot of people have them. VERY difficult to work with if youve never done it.

How is it intstalled and tuned?

you will need a timing box like msd, tuning is done via a labtop, but you will need a wideband 02 on a dyno.

hm, tell me more. how much for the smt-6 and where to get it. i searched and found nothing. i have acess to a dyno and laptop for tuning capabilities. and i have no problem shelling out the 300.00 for the wideband 02 sensor. i have a few big plans in the works... :D
has anyone used and tested the smt-6?

sorrry, back on topic.

one of my acquaitances has it on his Juiced Beta2 swapped accent, I can ask him if you want. the bastard runs 13 second 1/4 miles.

btw by wideband 02 sensor i meant the dyno that can read wideband, the sensor and gauge for your car isnt required.

here is what it can do according to their site:

ADDS TUNING CAPABILITY TO ALL ENGINES
TUNE ONLINE VIA YOUR PC, NO RE-CHIPING NEEDED
TUNE WHILE YOU DRIVE
MONITOR & TUNE AFR (Lambda)
LOG YOUR ENGINE PERFORMANCE
TUNE YOUR ENGINE THE SMART WAY
SAVE SETTINGS
TWO SEPERATE SETTINGS STORED IN MEMORY

This is basically the same thing as an SAFC2, BUT:

- You can set points through the whole RPM. You can set 6000 points instead of the safc2 that can do 12.
- You can adjust timing with the MSD ignition box.

....professional installation would be recommended from me though... a LOT of wiring to do. Especially you 2k2 and your problem with pin #43 LOL :abovelol:

As for when to buy it, all you have to do is checkout the page i gave you, under the <dealers> link, and email them telling you where you live...
