Hi
I have an 04 Elantra GT Sedan
I am wondering, would I be able to fit a 15" sub with proper enclosure into my trunk?
The sub I wanna get is DD9515 and if possible, ported box
Thanks,
yeah.. i know one of the COTM nominations for last month had a 15.. i believe it was cclngthr
yeah i was right.. search "nominate" and look at the october cotm nomination sheet.. he's the 3rd or 4th down

the box size i would be a bit worried about. seeings as you have a trunk car, you going to be tight on space. in my hatch ive had a 6.5cu' and now run a 5.25cu' box. check pioneers site about the reccomended box sizes for that sub, then go measure the trunk and see what you can do.

You may be able to do it if you use a sealed enclosure -- they take up a little less space. When you look up the cu ft. volume at Pioneer's site (or www.crutchfield.com), look up the sealed volume, too.

just make sure the sub will work in a sealed enclosure before building the box. if you want loud bass, then go for a ported/vented box. you will loose the clarity of a sealed box, but at least you will rattle some windows:D
box tuning is essential. if the box is not made right, sealed correctly, and the correct port/vent lenght or dimensions, the subs will sound like ****. just read alot. i would call pioneer and talk to a tech person there. give him your maximun trunk area and go from there. thats what i did. my whole trunk is a box. but the end result is a very high spl for a daily driver car, not a spl car.

wow...I have 15'' woofers at home and they sound great in a cubic space of about 3000 feet. Cramming that kind of room filling power into a cubic space of about 100 feet seems like a little bit of overkill, doesn't it?

lol, try a 12" kicker soloX in a 5.25cu' box with 2400 watts continuous going to it. it will make your vision blurry within 3 seconds. 140spl all day long. and after about a minute or 2, it will/can stop your heart.

I have a bandpass box with a Sony 15 inch sub. Very little room in the trunk now but it hits hard.
