There is a way to change the clock LED's...
:)
I did it for a long time on GK's... did about 50 clock conversions from orange to blue... actually replacing the SMT LED's -- though it's a b!tch and only those are are pretty good at soldering should attempt... otherwise you'll screw the clock up...

I've heard the green color comes from a plastic film over the top of the clock and by replacing it with a different color film you can change the clock color (I've seen someone recommend buying the sheets that are used to color theatrical spotlights.)

Yup, a piece of "gel" for theatrical spotlights will work with some thin clear plexiglass. You could also use some clear colored cellophane like they use for wrapping presents to change the color a bit -- I did that on my 02 to shift it towards blue.
I wasn't happy with the color after the mod, though, so I just unplugged the clock. The aftermarket HU has a clock anyway, and I thought it was silly to have to reset two clocks twice a year.

This might help, unless like they said, you can't do this to the xd2's.
good luck

I guess it's my turn to say that no, you can't do that to an XD2.
