hi guys,
My door panel is almost off... Every Clip has been unclipped and I'm sure that the only thing holding the panel in place is the little manual handle for the windows... Even if all of you guys seems to be having power windows I was just wondering if anybody would have a good idea...

-I tried to pull it out... Not working :(
-There's no screw holding it in place... well I didn't see any
(there's no cap!!!) :(
-Tried to "unscrew" the handle itself... Didn't work either... :(

Please help...
Btw... It's a 2004 NOT Gt... (That's why I want to install tweeters)

Hi Fighter,

I have the electric Windows, but usually the manual handles are mounted using a large C-clip that keeps the handle attached to the shaft, pull off the clip the handle should come off cleanly.

Hyundai suggests that a cloth be wedged between the panel and handle to remove the clip.

I hope this helps

Ron

Yes, get a rag (or my personal tool, the bottom of your T-shirt) and wedge it in the handle from the direction of the 'handle part'. Shimmy the rag back and forth whilepulling up. The clip will pop off and you can pull the handle right off. To put it back on, put the clip on the handle, and press in place.

If this "O" represents the part of the handle attached to the door:

===O

Put the rag in from this end ---> ===O

Move it this was ===>O and shimmy it up and down.

Yup, there's most likely a "U" shaped clip that holds the window crank lever over a groove in the knurled window crank shaft. The rag method might work, or you can get a tool at the auto parts store to push the clip off.

Just be ready -- when the clip pops off, it may go flying and can be hard to find.

Ok well couldn't take the clip off with the rag... I'll try to find a tool for this one. ( don't want to break everything...)

And by the way, do you think tweeters will fit on the black plastic next to the door handle... Because I think it's not as large as the ones on the cars with power windows...

I would be shocked if the rag didn't work. You have to do it to know how to do it, if you know what I mean. Once you do it the first time, it will be easy. Keep trying. Also, run the rag all the way around the handle (after starting as stated above); the common assumption is that the clip is open toward the crank, but it could be oriented differently.

Can you get us a picture of the door panel so I can take a look at it? I might be able to give some advice as I've taken off my door panel many many times. I know it's different, but with a picture I might be able to come up with a good idea.

In the US the base model comes with power windows and locks. But in other areas the base model comes with window cranks. I believe carbonman also has window cranks on his. If I am not mistaken, on my daughter's car (2001 Accent) when I took her door panel off the window crank was 2 separate pieces, I had to peel the top piece off and there was a screw underneath it. I will see if I can find my instructions on it.

Ok, everything's done!!! :D for the driver side door... So i'll try to answer all your questions...

Probebly that I don't have power windows beceause I live in Cananda (Quebec) And i bought the BASEST model i could (the cheapest by the same way).

As for the window handle , i successfully took it apart with a tool bought a the autoparts store... I had to modify it a little so it could take the clip off easily.

After that, i took out the door panel and I simply drilled a hole through the door panel...

Anyway, now that I'm used to it, if anyone wishes to see what it looks like with the tweeter installed and pics by pics of the removal of the "prehistorical" window handle... Just let me know and I'll take pictures while installing the passenger side Tweeter.
