wonder if they are gunna bring it to the states?

I would much rather the R34 look, but a skyline is a skyline. it has a concept look to it. as long as it still has a good engine, its cool.

The front looks more like the 350Z and the rear looks alittle like the newer corvettes but the overall coupe shape seems like the R34. I like it!

Rumor was, they were thinking about a turboed v6 or a s/c 8 cylinder.I do believe its the same platform as the 350z and the G35.I like the look but not as much as the REAL Skyline.

I don't like it so much either. And from the reviews I've read, the 350Z / G35 platform is not very good. The 350Z doesn't perform like it should at the track, especially considering how stiff the suspension is. Both cars are also plagued with a dynamic alignment problem. Essentially, you'll go through a set of tires every 6K miles. It makes me wonder if this car will have some of the same problems.

hmm. My boss hasn't complained about tires on his G35? I'll have to ask him about it.

Does he have the coupe or sedan?

As far as I know it only applies to the G35 Coupe and 350Z...

ah, that must be it. He has the Sedan. If I were getting one, I'd go coupe though. One of our cops has a 350z, I'll ask her if she has any tire problems. (not that I don't believe you, but I like to hear real-life stories too)

Agreed. The client I've been doing work for here for the past year actually has a G35 sedan as well. The coupe is definitely cooler looking though.

I dunno... it's not the car that I imagine when I hear the word Skyline. Like someone said earlier, it's like a 350Z on steroids, with corvette/ferrari like taillights.

I guess anything is better than the current G35 being called a Skyline. I think the G35 is a beautiful car, but it doesn't deserve to be called a Skyline in Japan.

Well, as for it having any problems experienced by the 350 Z of Infiniti G35. I would not worry about it. The suspension will be different because a) it is AWD; b) it is a skyline, and well the track is what the skyline was made for, i don't see nissan deviating from the track god history the skyline has built for itself. All in all I like it, and i hope it keeps an inline block.

I think it does need a newer motor than the rb26dett, but it efinetly needs to keep the inline layout, or i think it will begin to see problems like the vg30dett saw.

Just a couple points.

G35=skyline. The GTR will share the same platform with the next generation g35. The g35 will even have some exterior design similarities. So nobody will be able to argue then that a G35 is not a skyline.

Most likely the GTR will have a 4.0L or 3.5L V6 (turbocharged). Output will be 450hp+. Weight is rumored to be in the 3200-3400 range. Pricing in the $70s. Those who are guessing $50s are just full of it. Will come out fall 07.

g35 coupe (not sedan) and 350z are known to have excessive tread wear on the center of the tire. Many have tires last only 10-15k miles but 6k is reaching a bit.

As a real world story, on my 03 auto the 18" pilot sports (280 rating) lasted 25k miles with no noticeable center wear. The record I believe is 35k miles. My 05 manual has 140 rated 19" re050a's so I'm only hoping for 15-20k. I drive very aggressively btw. :D I wore half the tread on my Q rated winter tires in 15k miles even though they should've last 60k.

The G35 sedan seems such a waste to me. Sport compacts should not be made into sport sedans. Unless you're buying a BMW. =)...even then the BMW 8 series sets itself apart from any other model as a sporty 2 seater. MMM the 8 series :drools: And the skyline has had limited appearances on the freeways here in SoCal. I haven't seen it but know a few people that have. I was told it had the Z front end and the G35 rear...yet this ones rear end doesn't resemble the G35 at all.

ttv6 is the only power plant they have talked about even for us. 85k for it is meh. I would rather get a r34 for half the price imported and made streetable.
