A ) 2x Alpine 12" type-r's dual 4ohm (http://iweb.alpine-usa.com/pls/admn/item_info?p_item_name=SWR-1242D&p_category=70&p_subcategory=150&p_main=10&p_more=y)
B ) 2x Alpine 12" type-r's dual 2ohm (http://iweb.alpine-usa.com/pls/admn/item_info?p_item_name=SWR-1222D&p_category=70&p_subcategory=150&p_main=10&p_more=y)

Amps
A ) 2x Alpine vPower Mono Amp (http://iweb.alpine-usa.com/pls/admn/item_info?p_item_name=MRP-M350&p_category=40&p_subcategory=140&p_main=10&p_more=y) In series
B ) 1x Alpine v12 Mono amp (http://iweb.alpine-usa.com/pls/admn/item_info?p_item_name=MRD-M605&p_category=40&p_subcategory=140&p_main=10&p_more=y) In parallel
C ) Rockford Fosgate P5002 2chan Amp (http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/ez2rockford/ModelInfo/ModelInfo.asp?ItemKey=10063521&CategoryDesc=Punch%20Amplifiers) In series

(id like to stick with stuff that you can purchace at bestbuy. I get an employee discount and can get that 4yr coverage with them.)

ur first thing is to see if any of thse amps are 2OHM stable if non are, i suggest not getting the 2OHM woofer and going with the 4OHM, now if the amps are 2OHM stable then look and see if they are 1OHM stable i say this because if they are and the subs are dual voice-coil u can wire them up to be a 1OHM load thus producing more power!! oh yea keep and eye on ur RMS on the amps and what volt they produce them. rule of thumb the lower the volts that the amp is powered at and the higher the RMS is at that voltage the better the amp. example: an amp producing 100W RMS @ 12V is better than an amp producing 105W RMS @ 14.4V.. get it?? because ur stock electrical cant produce the 14.4v to make the 105W all the time.

of those choices your best bet would be the v12 alpine amp with a pair of the type r subs in dual 2 ohm config. you would have to do a combo of series and parallel to achieve the optimal final load of 2 ohms.

choice a) each pair of coils in parallel for essentially two 1 ohm subs and then series the 2 subs to the amp for a final 2 ohm load

choice b) series each pair of coils for essentially two 4 ohm subs and then parallel the 2 subs to the amp for the same 2 ohm final load.

either way it ends up the same just do whichever makes the wiring easiest.

it would be a good deal if they carried better product. lower grade alpine stuff just doesn't do it for me.
