when the engine finally gives out? what usually gets messed up or whatever inside of the engine that the engine just doesn't wanna go anymore? rods? pistons? i know hardly a thing about the inside of the engine so what usually gets "broken"?

well all the cars that have craped out on me it was one of 2 things. either i blew the head gasket and coolent got in the cyl and blew a hole in the block, or i bent a rod(did that like 3 times)

its probably more along the lines of stress...if you want to know more about engines go to www.howstuffworks.com

Bearings also go out as well, and that can seize an engine just as fast as tossing a rod through the block.

hmm is there anyway to rebuild it? im sure if it goes through the block a new block is needed so a little more than an overhaul would be needed I expect... can you upgrade the parts to higher quality ones?

usually in our cases, the 300$ engines off of ebay are cheaper than just the parts themselves

so, yeah...
