"I got on the dyno with my 2.0 with exhaust, header, obx underdrive pully, xtd lightned flywheel and nology wires. Not too bad for a 4 banger"

i was poking around on NT.com and i came around this 139 hp??? thats more than ford? does the lightwheel flywheel make that big of a difference???

I don't hold the record in whp ... there is an exd member here who has 136 whp...

but an extra 3 whp is great considering the mods !

I dynoed 133 with stock crank pulley and stock flywheel + the 11 inch sonata rotors ( heavier than stock = more mass = lower dyno #'s ).


Also, from his Dyno ... the torque #'s seem lower than typical...

only 131 ft.lb ? ?? whats up with that ?

i know you don't hold the record but when i saw his mods and then numbers that go along with them i was like :eek: :bowdown: doesn't even state a new intake!

is it a newer one with cvvt or the older beta2's like mine ?

could the lighter flywheel have an adverse effect on torque in some way?

a heavier flywheel makes more torque, so that could be why

scott (oiml8, on egtclub) is putting down 136whp (+/- 2). when we went to the dyno.

jimmy, i dont remember off hand. search on egtclub and check. hes coming to the meet...i think. but i know he just installed p/p IM and bbtb...it produced 2whp gains........ he was not a happy camper. 5 pulls in and all about the same.

sorry didn't mean to seem pushy... just excited because he showed such gains with little mods! :D wonder if its possible for 150hp.... hmmmm

3rd gear is the norm, but that isn't necessarily what he did. Every car I've dyno'd has shown more horsepower, and less torque when dynoing in 4th vs 3rd. And what we're seeing on his graph is more hp than normal, and less tq than normal. Makes me think that he dyno'd in 4th.

"yeah I did 3 runs in 3rd, I asked the guy running it what was best and he said third." he ran in 3rd :)

it wont make much sense to dyno in 4th since the gearing for the i4 tib and xd makes the car run the 1/4 mile in 3rd gear... 8X +/- MPH .

The reasoning is that you want to make the most power in 3rd gear so you can run the fastest 1/4 mile possible.. lol

I don't see how 4th gear is useful on the street except if you are drag racing on the street ... 4th gear goes well over 100 mph ...

Yeah, but some people will do anything to show a higher # on the dyno.

all my dyno numbers were in third. but the guy had a difficult time keeping it in third, because the trans kept downshifting. i wish i was in the dr seat. next time.

yes but he said he was in 3rd which gives me hope because 139whp is a good number for those mods :D makes me believe 150 is obtainable...
