View Full Version : Easiest Ways to get Window Switches off?
Switching the leds in there and dont feel like taking the whole door off.... again lol I saw in the DIY it says use a flathead to get them off but that would scratch and break the **** out of them i know it

You can always try to pry out the trim panel, but you run a much greater risk of scratching the door and/or panel. It's not hard to take off the door panel, so I'd recommend doing that.
if you use a flathead, you can stick a piece of cloth to cover the door area that the screwdriver touches.. it wont scratch it. i used a flathead on mine unprotected and it worked fine, not a scratch.

Taking the whole panel off would probably be the least risky choice. But I've popped those suckers out with a screwdriver a number of times, and never scratched anything in the process.

i didn't take the door pannel off...just make sure you take the time...i was rushing with the last one and snapped the damn plastic clip. had to order a replacement.

I scratched mine all up prying them out with a screw driver.... I suggest you pull the door panels...
ill try with a flathead and if i feel im going to scratch i guess door comes off...... is there a certain way to pry? just run the thing around one side then pull it off

the clips are located on the North and South ends of it if i remember correctly .

Taking the door panel off takes less than 5 minutes. Don't take the chance of messing it up. It's not worth it, because, you know you'll be a lot more mad that you messed it up rather than spending a little extra time.
