so hes how then night happens. im sitting at home i plan on building my sub box and installing my subwoofers tonight. evan comes over at like 6;20 to help me out. me and him start going around getting the things im going to need. when were done running around to stores to get this stuff its 9:oo we pull in unpack my stuff and then my girlfriend walks out to the shop and asks us to drive her to her mothers house which is but 3 miles from mine so we do, we get back finally get started about 9:30.we start working on the box everything comeing along fine 11:30 rolls around evan heads home ...got to work in the morningso i stay out to finish up the box...which turns out better then expected seeing as how my friends dad decided to move my sheet of mdf from in side to outside in a leanto thing. i run all of the wiring get evrything ready to turn on. and then it happens or shall i say didnt happen. no sound....i checked everything all the wiring everythings fine the i relize whats wrong.....my remote wire isnt working..just a litle back ground info the cd player i bought i got from my boss at work after i intalled it the radio neverworked i asked him about it he said must have been something i did.i let that go.....until right now i can not hook up the remote wire to the amp b/c that"part" of the cd player is apparently broken. so i wasted money on a cd player i cant use. and i just spent the last six hours out in my shop for nothing.........so i guess if there is any one here on the fourm that listens strickly to cds pm me about this ill be willing to make you a deal. it also has hook ups for a tv/dvd screen and im puts for video games. which all work. just will not play radio or run an remote wire.oh and untop of that i go to turn my car on and i hear a small pop and the clluster lights stopped working and also the rear passanger side taillight. this has happened to me before and the dealership said it was b/c i plugged one of the plugs on the dash piece in wrong.....they only fit one way and i am not retarted....so ......... basicly tonight = nothing but frustration and irratation

So let me get this straight.
your H/U does work but the remote wire doesnt, which is why the subs
dont work? is that right?

If thats all the problem is, why dont you connect the remote to your amp
to an accessory wire? either at the back of the H/U or behind the cig
lighter socket?

i tried ..didnt work ever since i bought this cd player i ve had nothing but problems with it first..which were main due to operrator error like make a previously detachable face befroe install to a no longer detachable face cd player. just things like that ...and i cant figure out why the radio wont work .....but its not due to wiring..i dont know im just do with it i think time to give up and sell it to someone if they want it. but thanks for clearing up everything i reread it this morning and its slightly hard to follow.:)

All you need to do to get the amp to turn on is provide it with a +12v signal. If your CD player won't give it to it, use something else - like the lead wire to the Accy turn on on your headunit. Just like Yellowelantra was saying. You don't NEED the remote wire to work.

^^^ You're not supposed to be able to run anything off of it. It just provides a 'signal' to trigger relays in Amps/Antennas.

Also, some headunits have stupid, overly-complicated features that also let you turn off certain outputs. Make sure yours doesn't have some goofy configuration where you may not be sending a signal out on either the remote-wire, or the RCA outputs.
