Hyundai almost had it right, the OEM air filter box breathes through a tube that goes into the left fenderwell behind the battery. Factory CAI almost, however they decided that a resonator and snorkel tube back into the engine bay would pass the quiet test, sure it works but the air must go through a lot of bends before it gets to the airfilter box. REMOVE THE RESONATOR! It is a little bit of work but it is worth it, my initial test drive showed good results, seems like the engine spins up a little quicker and in the 4000+ range it feels stronger. Now I hope to see how much an increase that I get in my MPG.
Also, there was not as much throttle noise at WOT as I had anticipated,
This is a worthwile MOD.

Now, before i say anything, I know this is a two year old thread.

That being said, this mod is about as old as the dinosaurs, yet is pretty effective.

I literally just did this mod. It does its job, and is fairly easy.

How come this isnt in our DIY section. Isnt there some way we can borrow the DIY on elantraClub's site and put it in ours, or maybe someone can make up one for EXD.

I dunno, I just think it would be smart to include all of the free mods on the DIY page.

While it does make sense, Evan is right. These kinds of mods are spread all over the site, all you need to do is search for stuff like "cheap mod" "free mod" or "easy mod."
