Wow what a holloween......first off.....my daughter gets a double ear infection....so the wife takes her to the er. My wife was busy taking care of my daughter because she was crying and the whole nine yards....the keys drop out of her pockets. So the stupid whore behind the counter says did any body loose keys, this ****ing de-tox **** says yeah there mine! He then heads to the parking lot and takes off. My wife had no clue because she was in another room with a doctor. A 2005 dodge caravan gone in minutes.....I owe around 21,000 on it. The officer says they are going to check the tapes from the hospital as well as the street cameras. Then a warrent will be issued.....but this **** is originally from another state. God what a holloween. **** Va.

Hi , dodge caravans are amoung the easiest cars in the world to steal. I had mine Voyager stolen years ago at a concerts at a football stadium. got it back virtually undamaged, all I needed was some touch up paint for the door & a new ignition switch. the scam in the city, we steal the car, leave it to get "towed"{, the law in the city say you don't have to report it for 29 days},, they collect $32.00 for 30 plus days, the insurnace complany pay you off & does not bother them. I did get my van back, re titled & drove it for another 3 years when it was totaled & I got my GT that is the short & sweet version...
hopefully thye catch the A-Hole
Hey it is a ***** having your car stolen

I have to add to vsolo's tale.
He drove a bunch of people down in the minivan, and I drove myself down in a little 89 Colt hatchback. Genius that I am, I lock my keys in the car. We decide that after the show, we'll use the crowbar in the back of the minivan and smash the window open, because it'll take forever to get help otherwise. Later I meet up with a friend, and we're gonna go hang out in VA after the show.
I get to my car, and the minivan's gone! "They f'king forgot about me!" I was pretty pissed off. Then my my dad (Vsolo) and my brother walk up, "Hey, where's the van?" I'm like, "You're kidding, right?" We decide that maybe somehow my sister drove it somewhere else, but then she shows up, "Where's the van?"
A couple dozen minivans had been stolen right off the lot that night, and I'd believe it, because I was making a lot of noise trying to break into my car, and no one cared. We saw several people driving around with security looking for their stolen minivan.
I had to drive six or seven people home in that little hatchback.
Humorous anecdotes aside, that really sucks that you got a brand new car stolen just like that. I'm sure they'll nail the guy, being on camera and in the system already, it doesn't strike me that he's the clever type.

here's the deal, if she had the original keys from the dealer on the key ring (which a lot of people do) the police will say that you are SOL in most circumstances. thats why i have a copy of my key on my ring and keep the original locked away in a safety deposit box.

the police say that they can's claim it stolen because the original key was used to take the car...
i know its seems like a stretch and stupid but all VA pd are lazy like that. trust me, ive lived here my entire life pretty much.

and then the argument can be made that a guy stole his set of keys worth $21,000

Know any good lawyers?
Insurance companies are not your friends. If you're gonna get screwed, at least bring lube with you.

Wow, I can't believe the gall of some people...best of luck in getting it back...in one piece especially.
i bet they will find it, eventually.. all your stuff will probably be gone though and it will probably be pretty badly beaten. What kind of insurance did you have? and ya get a lawyer.. check the videos and sue

That sucks...
However, do you have homeowner's insurance? Most homeowner's policies cover stuff that's stolen from inside your vehicle. I think having the whole vehicle stolen with all the stuff in it might qualify...

Chances are you'll get your van back in a few weeks. Most likely trashed but the insurance company will piece it back together for you. Any extras in the vehicle you can pretty much write-off as they'll be gone. Sorry to hear of your misfortune. Reminds me of a few years ago when my barber had his Mazda 626 stolen. Some guy came in to use the bathroom, took his keys from his coat pocket & took off with his car. It was later found by police with two crack whores driving it. A new interior & repainted front bumper & it was given back to him. He drove it another year before his lease was up. Needless to say he turned it in & didn't look back.

That's not true. Anytime your car is gone without your permission you can report it stolen. Just think about the cases you occasionally hear where a kid takes mom's car without permission and gets arrested.
If you leave the keys in the ignition, that may be another story... but who's to know what keys were used. If I'm held up at gunpoint, and they take my wallet, & keys, then drive away in my car, my car was stolen, not just my wallet. If I'm carjacked, and they take off with my keys in the ignition, the car was stolen.
Hell, the majority of modern cars out there don't even work without an original, microchipped key.
