Upgrading audio system again

Want to ask for your guys opinion. I currently have a Clarion DXZ835MP headunit. I am looking to replace my legacy 6.5" and 6x9" speakers with something of better quality. The thing is, I need to get another amp for those 4 speakers because my current amp is gonna be used for my new subs.

They are 50w RMS and 250w Peak. Should I be looking for a 1000w amp (250w x 4) or something slightly higher than RMS (75w x 4)?

The type R's are the better way to go. In the long run you'll be happier even if you have to wait another week or two to come up with the price difference. Personally I would not advise someone to exceed the RMS rating of the speakers. You have to compare apples to apples and oranges to oranges, i.e. Rms rating of the speakers to the rms of the amp. There are a few manufactures who if you contact them will actually suggest a amplifier wattage that best suits their speakers. Although I do not believe Alpine is but then again it wouldnt hurt. www.alpine.com
