Is there anything different about these that will keep them from snapping/bursting/leaking like all the other SS lines available for the Elantra?

I agree! I was in on the first GB and all the kinks are worked out. Can't beat the warranty either. However, I still have to do the rear disc conversion to install and test these lines.

Those were weak ones that were available on that GB back in the day...
Checkout their website, i think it can explain it better than me, and EVERYBODY that has had these agree that they are the best out there: http://www.goodridge.net/

Anyways, the front and rear brake lines have different mounting methods.....so, the rear will not work on the front. They won't mount to the strut.

Yeah, they slipped off. I got them installed at a performance shop, but when I almost crashed my car I was close to the dealer and the guy there showed me the lines almost off the car. He said the wires I had were pretty ****ty in design and where not even approved for road use. no CSA stamp or something like that.

These are DOT approved.
They are not like the lines you bought from that GB, those lines exploded on everyone, even tricked if i remember :)

that's it!!! DOT approved and no i didn't get it from a group buy, bought them from someone here... oh well, i'll see if i want these.
how much will this improve stock braking or braking with the new rotors and stuff in that GB

this gets rid of the fact that stock lines expand, ever feel that rubbery feeling in the sotck pedal? like there is no end to the pedal, it just keeps going and going...
well, with these SS lines, the braking will be much more precise and no rubber feeling at all.
also they will last longer and are not prone to be cut by texan rednecks :D LOL
the organizer is saying this will probably the LAST GB EVER !

I might jump in on this.
Were the first set of SS brake lines that went bad from Goodridge?? I know they've been around for awhile and it's hard to imagine them releasing a defective product.

Nope, those were other ones... Sorry, the name isn't caming up, but it was DEFINATELY not the goodridges...
otherwise tricked would not have them on, he was victim of those that leaked (not goodridge :D).

So the ones for the RD Tib fits our XDs?
I love it when you scroll through a huge PDF file only to find every car manufacturer except Hyundai on there :(
In their Euro application list, I did see Hyundai but is there a particular part number we're requesting for?

yep, RD calipers are identical front and back
the only difference really is that they have captive rotors

I was lucky. The ones on the old group buy that I had didn't burst on our Tib, and I hesitated putting them on the Elantra....to the point that I never have. Since I'm not really modding anymore, I won't be jumping in on the buy, but I will say this. The pedal feel you have with these brake lines is amazing, a slight touch on the brake and you stop on a dime. We had them combined with KVR's on the Tib and it was insane...so I do recommend getting the lines if these will not burst or break again, just in case people are not sure of why brake line replacing is a cool idea :)

Unfortunatel;y as much as I want these I can't. I'm in the group buy for the rotors mine are grinding nasty!!!

Well these, WITH the new rotors will give you unbelievable braking...
Use the chance you have while it is still here: the organizer said it was most probably the last GB for these EVER, so you will regret 10 years from now the day that you will be sitting there on your porch smokking a blunt looking at your stock rubber lines and telling Ford ''Damn B, I wish I had listened to KeWLKaT and bought those lines'' And he would say ''Word''.
LOL :D

ok...when does it end??? can you buy them regardless of hte group buy??? say it ends ....can we still purchase them seperately?

11-04-2005, 11:53 PM
hey Kewlkat who do I send the payment to and its $115 USD shipped right??? even to Canada?
KeWLKaT
11-05-2005, 12:57 AM
@ only1db: the GB will end as soon as we have 10 people i think, and since goodridge only make these on order, they cannot be purchased separately, they need a minimum of orders to do that. Also, like I stated, this is most probably the last GB for these so jump on em :)
@4mynikka: Canada is 10$ extra, for 125$ USD shipped. the paypal info is somewhere in the thread... i think it was faithofadragon(at)hotmail.com.

Does the GK tib use the same brake lines?
KeWLKaT
11-05-2005, 02:11 PM
well this gb being for the RD which has the exact same lines as ours, it does work
for the GK though, i know the front ones will fit but i have no clue for the back ones, but i THINK that all hyundais with rear discs have the same caliper/rotor combo. correct me if im wrong though.

quick question... how hard are these to install?
evan938
11-05-2005, 06:15 PM
so its for all 4 lines. what about for the people w/ a GLS w/ upgraded braking and only need lines for the front? i would think that tib lines would work...looking @ FF's parts list when he did the tib calipers/sonata upgrade, new brake lines wasnt a part he bought, so im sure the connections will all fit the same
KeWLKaT
11-05-2005, 07:24 PM
this is for 4 lines.
the rear ones dont fit on drums unfortunately.
i dont know if you can only purchase the front ones, you should ask the guy, but im sure you could work something out

Just get the lines now, and save the rear lines for when you do a rear disc conversion. :)
