Just curious, before I go and file a compliant to the BBB on this place if anyone that lives near Northport, AL has heard of anything BAD about this place...

The place I speak of is:

Andres Turbochargers
13236 N River Farm Dr.
Northport, AL 35473
Telephone: (205) 752-5476

I sent back a turbo that was built incorrectly, the turbo was on my car for 5 miles and the shaft was shot, the oil seal destroyed. I had two shops take apart the turbo both said the same thing, that the turbo was:

a) Incorrectly built.
b) Was not "brand new" and was built from refurb'ed parts
c) the turbo was dropped with the exhaust housing off (doubtable, since I know I didn't drop it)

So...

I contacted Tim @ Speed-Factor (of whom is a reseller for Andres Turbochargers) and he talked to a guy by the name of Paul at Andres, Paul told Tim that he would send me a replacement turbo and I were to send the turbo back to Andres's... ok fine, I wait two weeks, no turbo... I contact Tim, Tim talks to Paul and Paul says because the last time he sent out a replacement turbo to one of Tim's customers (dvanderk to be exact), Derek (dvanderk) NEVER sent Paul the broken turbo back... So now Paul doesn't trust Tim's customers (Tim had to pay Paul back out of his own money due to Derek being a retard) ~ Now Tim tells me I gotta send the Turbo to Paul @ Andres Turbochargers -- Ok, fine no problem... I sent it through UPS -- the package was signed for... This was on Oct 19th, 2005

Since then Tim has told me he can not contact Paul or anyone at Andres Turbochargers... Which is bothering me seeing how I now have almost $500 sitting in limbo...

And now I went to the BBB's website and find they are not a member of the BBB, BUT do have a compliant for not honor'ing a warranty...

Also another annoyance is my current shop told me that if Tim couldn't get the turbo warrantied for me, that they would get it warrantied with their distributor, since it's a Garrett turbo... So at this point and time EVEN if I got the broken turbo back I could do something with it... more than whats being done now...

Here's the BBB Link: http://www.birmingham-al.bbb.org/commonreport.html?bid=29003926

Also... Please don't see this as a attack against Tim @ Speed Factor -- He's done more than he could to help this situation and I would buy from him again any day of the week...

I'm filing a complaint along with Henry and hopefully we can get this resolved.

Just to let everyone know, I have not been dealing with paul for quite sometime cause of issues with the turbos I had been recieving.

I think you need to find yourself a new guy to get turbos from there Tim. Look for some places out of Southern Florida. I know there are a ton. My friend got a t3/t4 for his civic and it is great. I wish I could remember what the company was called. They had great customer service too and did everything in a timely fashion.

Tim has had a new distributor for turbo's for awhile now, but we're still trying to fix loose issues with his past distributor...

And South FL only has a few distributors, which most of them get their turbo's from a distributor in Centeral FL.
