Hello,
I have been searching around and reading up on various BOV's that I could use on my setup. I deffinetly need a recirculating one, and if I had my choice I would go with the HKS SSQV with the recirculating adapter. Only problem with this is it seems to be pretty expensive and I can't find a good price for one, plus I would need it to recirculate, and would need the flange as well so I can weld it onto a pipe.

The other possibility I was thinking was the greddy RS, mostly because the cost seems to be soo low, and it seems like a decent quality BOV. Like this for example:
Ebay Link #1 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/GREDDY-TYPE-RS-BLOW-OFF-VALVE-BOV-CIVIC-PRELUDE-DEL-SOL_W0QQitemZ8011907382QQcategoryZ33742QQrdZ1QQcmd ZViewItem)
Seems in-expensive, and all I would need to do is get a flange (around 20 bucks) and the recirculating adapter if it doesn't come with it.

Seems that the HKS SSQV would deffinetly be a better choice, especialy for tuning it to idle correctly and functionality, but can it really be that better of a choice for twice the price? What do you guys recommend about a BOV for my setup? I am going to splice this into the intake tubing, more near the battery area probably, so the recirculating part and just plumb right into the intake there.

Hey man, you can do it like me and get the DSM 1st gen BOV. I see that BOV in a LOT of setups, it is very nice, easy to tune, and sounds good also! Best part is that it's cheaper than your HKS SSQV :D

You talking about the ones that come off a factory like 1992 eclipse? Damn those things sell for like 10 bucks lol is it worth it though? Would it be more worth it to get a greddy or hks?

I think brandwise, HKS is probably more reputable than GReddy, but at the same time you're also going to pay more for HKS because of their name brand.

You have no more gf so money shouldn't be as tight now as before. I would just get the one you've been wanting, even if it meant more money. Why blow the money on the GReddy one only to say, "Damn, I wish I had originally went with the HKS SSQV BOV".

Just do it right in the first place so you don't have to redo it at a later time.

I'd go with the HKS personally. I have one and have never had any problems with it. Plus you would get a free pipe from me with the mount flange already on it.. ;)

Hehe I think you already gave me that piece already :D I think its a 2.5 inch diameter tube about 6 inches or so long with the flange welded on it, are all HKS flanges compatable with each other btw?

nope, the hks has a c-ring type thing, the greddy is a bolt on flange, the tial one has a ring clamp thing. i thing the greddy one is more compatable with other ones on the martket

I know this, I am talking about all HKS compatable with all HKS, for example if I get a flange that was made for an HKS BOV 10 years ago, will a brand new HKS SSQV for example still be able to connect to it?

i think all of the ssqv hks will make will have that type of flange, they also have the "Racing Blowoff Valve Type II" hks make that has the same flange

Is there a pretty big difference between the "HKS SSQV" and the "HKS SSQV Style" BOV's? The HKS style ones are on average half the price as the hks ssqv's.

It really depends on the name brand of the knock off. If they are a decent company with a return policy chances are its a decent knock-off. Oh and HKS hasn't changed the flange in at least 10 years.. :-)

i got a knock off and it looks just like the real thing but no hks logo on it.

Wait are you talking about the old alpine intake tube with the HKS flange? The 2.25 inch diamateter tube? I originally thought you were talking about something else lol.

I've got an OEM Nissan Silvia tube with the HKS flange on it that just so happens to be the same size as the Alpine pipes.. :-)

Its yours free for the price of a cetain type of beer.. ;)
