You should preorder one, they are offering that, right? Then you should line yourself up. If all the retailers and only selling them in bundles at the beginning, prepare to dish out some money.
I bet they won't let people buy two either.
And, I'm waiting at least until Halo 3 is out to get one (next holiday system), but probably longer.

you wont be able to get one for weeks maby even months there are so many pre orders. What I would do is run into Best Buy and snatch and grab the one they have setup to play :) well atleast they have one around here. I personally look at it being played and I am not that impressed. Really looks like computer graphics. Like the head of sony siad "Xbox 1.5".

I'm driving up to Indiana for Thanksgiving and my brother will have his 360 on the 22nd. I can't wait to play it. As for me, I'm waiting for the PS3.
As far as being able to pick one up opening day, I too think it is rather hopeless if you have not already ordered one. But I bet it depends a lot on which part of the country you are in. Cities like Houston may find themselves with a larger stock than smaller areas (or maybe just the opposite).

I while be getting the new Revolution. I want to try the new controller as well as the new Super Smash Bros online.
Forget the 360 (1.5).....
Forget the PS3........
No DREs........No huge controllers.......no fragile consoles.......Ill go with what I know and stay with the company that has kept me happy since childhood.........NINTENDO!
::puts on his Legend of Zelda shirt and his Mario mushroom headband, and teeters off to go play his Nintendo DS and watch an episode of Super Mario World::
C'mon ppl...how can you beat Super Smash Bros, Zelda, Mario, Donkey Kong, Samus, etc etc. They may not sell many or have mainstream appeal, but Nintendo is my choice.

I'll definitely be getting a Revolution as well. But its hard to buy one system and not get the other. I think that you should always buy the Nintendo (if you love the classic Nintendo software) and then buy either a PS3 or an XBox since most of the software seems to be the same (except for each one's flagship software). The reason I go w/ PS3 is because of SquareEnix... and I don't care for Halo. The only game I wish Sony had is Fable.

i totally agree with you Jfreak. I always get the Nintendo consoles cause those games are fun, nostalgic, and can be found nowhere else. Id prolly get the PS3 for second (if i can afford it), for everything else. Why get Xbox360 for Halo while I can play superior shooters on my pc......(see Half Life 2 and CounterStrike: Source)

Well, I'll have a Revolution for sure. I agree with you Maurice, Nintendo will always have the most fun games.
I don't play Halo 2 because it's the best game ever, but, it's the xbox live "experience," and it happens to be the best game available. I might have only played the single player Campaign for about 3 hours total. Also, I'll always favor a controller over a keyboard and mouse (although everyone else in the universe says the PC setup is better). I've been playing Halo 2 for 10 months now, there is probably one one or two games I've put more hours into (Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Bros. 3). After 10 months and the only complaint I have is that there are 11 year olds that can own me, that's impressive.
This being said, if the free wifi game play happens on Revolution, then I'll be hard pressed to pay for it on either xbox 360 or PS3.

You kno what dont like about the 360:
1. Theyre selling two diff versions. One version comes w/o a hard driv ($299), and one w/ a hard drive ($399)
2. To play your old games, you have to get the hard drive version.
I hope, and Im fairly sure, that the Revolution will be $200-250 as Nintendo consoles never seem to cost that much.

Do you know why you need the xbox hard drive to play old games?
ArunSenior04
11-07-2005, 10:32 AM
You need the version with the hard drive because thats how the old one was. All kinds of stuff was uploaded to the hard drive when playing Xbox games. To do this on the 360, you need the hd version.

what you do is wait outside of a toys r us and wait for some little kid to come out w/o their parents... kick them in the shins, grab the xbox 360, hop in your car and floor it. make sure to cover the plates and any distinguishing parts of it and wear a mask for god's sake!
at least thats how i would do it, if i were still into console games

Thanks. I guess I need the expensive one then. :(
you need the HD version because Microsoft will SELL (not give away) emulators for your old games. Only popular ones come first then all the non-popular ones. Wanna fork up another $5 for each game you already own?

I guess I'll get the one w/o HD then. I sold my xbox w/ games a while ago. I wanted to buy the 360 and some recent games that I've never played (ex. ghost recon2). I guess that's not going to happen.
I can't wait to hook up the 360 to my brand new 32" LCD Hyundai tv. This tv is by FAR the BEST deal out there. I can't believe hyundai makes tv's too. :D

The only game for PS that I'd want to play is gran turismo. I used to like final fantasy but no interest in rpg's anymore. For nintendo all I like is resident evil.

from what i heard, the game shops around here are only getting 16 consoles in. but each store has about 120 reserves. another reason why i'm waiting for ps3.
Im waiting for the ps3 as well.I love the fact that it is completely backwards compatible, and not just a limited few games.Hell,I still play some ps games on my ps2.

I haven't followed up with the systems lately, but do you guys think there will be a shortage of Xbox 360's come Xmas like when the PS2 was originally released?
ArunSenior04
11-18-2005, 12:26 AM
Does the PS3 even have a release date?
I thought about getting a PS3, but PS2s were to prone to disk reading errors, and breaking. Even putting it vertical could mess up the system.
So for me,
Revolution (nintendo games) + 360 (Xbox Live, GTA, Halo 3, Final Fantasy)
The only thing the PS3 really has is Gran Turismo (xbox has the equally good Forza).

havent owned a console except nintendo
computer games are much more sophisticated, with the price of upgrading however
i just bought a cheap bundle dreamcast with games though and thats kinda fun when im bored
source is my game though Steam handle = No*Hope
i play around in this server if you wanna see me tearing it up 129.25.9.25:6667

to give you an idea about if there wil be a shortage..
walmart.com has been out for months. of course there will be a second batch but knowing manufacturers that could take up to 3-4 weeks to release.. so lets say it takes a whole month. people will be ravaging the shelves of every place in the world to get that system
ps3 is gonna be released sometime in jan. or feb i think

I love my XBox, but I will never buy another one. Reason: MS said this was the last console you would ever need to buy, that anything in the future could be upgrades like on a PC. Now the 360, and you can only play 25 of the previous games on it. Forget it.
Get the PS3. It'll be the same price, it'll have a year more technology in it, and it'll be backward compatible to the PS1.
Only charming thing about Nintendo's new offering - they say it will play every game NES ever made. First system ever to be completely backward compatible. Awesome. I may get a cube someday just so I can play Metroid. Loved that damn game on NES and want to play Prime

metroid Prime 1 and 2 are truly awesome games.
I have prime, but I dont have the second. Pretty much right now all I play are halo 2 and Midnightclub 3:DUB edition

I think there is actually 200 or so backward compatible games for 360, but yeah.
MP is one of the most engaging games I've ever played, very well done.
And, yep, apparently Revolution is going to offer "complete" backward compatibility, but, the old games will be downloadable, and I'm sure that although their internet service will be free, the older games might come with a price tag. Still, it's going to be a great system.

I know. There were only 8 systems at the walmart I went to and they handed out numbers to the first 8 people and sent everyone else home. I was second in line (they had 2 deluxe systems and 6 cores).
i really wanna get one and sell it. its going for about $600 for the core system, over $1000 for the deluxe. lol.. money in the bank!

I downloaded ZSNES last week and have been playing Super Metroid ever since. Take that XBOX 360!
I forgot just how nice some of these Super Nintendo games looked. Maybe it's nostalgia. Of course, we're talking nice on a completely different level -- I saw a commercial for the new Project Gotham Racing, and the visual quality of that game is astounding.
For the games I like to play though, graphics don't have to be so insane. Lucky me, I won't be dropping $400 on a gaming system this year, heh.

My husband went on a waiting list for the 360 back in May, it was already paid for when he picked it up at midnight. He went to ebgames and only waited about 3minutes, he passed Walmart on the way and said there was a huge line. I can't believe that the Walmart you went to only had 8.
