so. im driving down the freeway driving the rental tuscon (thats another story/joke), just getting to dusk...about 3-4 cars ahead of me, i see something come up off the road and start flying to the left. at first, i thought it was a semi tire. after it gets to the left of the car infront of me, i realize, someone just plowed into a DEER!!!! people hit the brakes, but it ended up crossing 3 lanes of traffic, landing on the hard shoulder, then sliding into the grassy center. im like "wow....suprised its all in one piece..." then the damn thing STANDS UP and starts walking. im not sure if he tried to cross the north bound traffic or not caus i was just passing him when he stood up. it was seriously the coolest thing ive seen in a few years. and the part that confused me? whoever hit it didnt stop b/c not 1 car pulled over. i did notice a Ram w/ a busted off tail light and a dented quarter panel, but it was on the passenger side, and the deer flew left like someone hit it w/ the front driver. hm

My uncle once hit a deer on I-75 in northern michigan with a ford taurus station wagon doing 85. The deer busted the bumper, dented the hood, flew up in the air about 10-15 feet and was knocked out. Ten minutes later the deer wakes up and darts into the woods

A friend of mine hit one with a full-sized Blazer (like an '85) and _literally_ shattered it. No damage to the truck. Awesome.

Its because in those situations the deer are pumped on adrenaline. So for a short time they become super-deer. When it wears off, their injuries become the death of them.

Dude, the deer here are freaking insane. They survive all hits pretty much except from the raised trucks and 18 wheelers. 18 wheelers are freaking meat grinders....

If you ever have seen a deer get hit by a semi it is not a pretty site. I was going up I5 when I lived near seattle and I was north Bound and It was early morning. So not alot of traffic. I was riding behind this 18 wheeler and we went around this corner and I seen the deer walk out in front of him. Doing 70 mph and trying to dodge a deer with a semi is pointless especially on a down hill curve. Well anyways when he hit the deer he was probably doing around 60mph because he didnt see it in time. Wheel just imagine seeing a deer with a grenade stuck in it. It splatter everywhere even on my car. I had chucks of meat and hair all over my cherokee I was trying to stop from throwing up. good eatin though.....just jokin!!! I have also seen what a moose can do to a car. A horse sized animal with a rack the size of a king size bed and a 80's model taurus bad combination.

Ive seen the aftermath of a deer vs 18 wheel accident. The deer was annihilated and the only way I could tell it was a deer was by the little bit of a leg in the road.

I once drove around a large pile of meat and guts in the middle of the road. I assumed it had once been a deer by the color of the hairs spread down the road and the size of the pile. It was like a deer had been turned inside out. There was no hair on the pile, just on the road past it in the direction the truck that hit it must have been going. It was real fresh too. Nasty stuff.

we were going hunting one morning, and i was tired as hell. the guy i was going with said "stick your head out the window, itll wake you up"...this is 4am, in november/dec, so it was cold...i rolled down the window, stick my head out for about 1 second, and he jerks the truck to the left, and i see some clumps of hair flyin on the road...im like WTF WAS THAT!?...hes like "i came over that hill and that truck just slammed into a deer. i was trying to miss the truck". im like ok, im takin a nap. lol
