This has been covered numerous times in older post's. Still cool, but its alot of money and weight as compared to conventional forced induction.

208 whp ! hahahaa
that sucks so bad... + look at all the batteries they had to install just for that crap to turn the blower ! !!
how lame... but thanks for re-re-re-re-re-re-re-posting !

no no, it was a vid floating around here a few months ago over the summer where they took a leaf blower and strapped it to a civic (if i emember correctly) and an old s-10

Not that bad when the baseline was 115. Still stupid though, I wouldn't want to be carrying around a trunkload of batteries for a few seconds of electric supercharger boost.

the altima's base motor for that older style was a 2.4 L with 150ish bhp.
it was twin cam too... and you could get one with a 5 speed ...

^^^It said right in the article it baselined at 115:
Dyno: There's no doubt the unit delivers the goods. The Nissan Altima baselined at a measly 115 whp. At 5 psi, the ESC pushed output to 177 whp, and at 8 psi peak power jumped to 208 whp. At some points in the power curve, the ESC generated a 100-percent gain in power. Torque also dramatically increased. So 208 at the tires pushes this sedate Altima to a new level. Remember: it's an automatic.

ahh, its auto ... that explains the lower baseline !
anyway.. i've raced a few of those older model NA almitas with i/h/e and they beat me every time ! OUCH !

Well now a days electric superchargers (like hybrids and electric cars) are good ideas but too expensive... but eventually technology (as always) gets smaller/lighter/cheaper/more reliable so that you wouldn't need all those batteries creating the extra weight and wasting space. I also read a while back how the creator of this electric s/c was working with some car companies to see if they wanted to use the idea for future factory cars, but its still not profitable at the moment.

i don't know if i'm tired or what, but could somebody explains what exactly a supercharger like that does to the car and how it does it?
It's like a normal supercharger, but its not belt drivin. So theres no lagging on the SC, its boost as soon as you hit the button till it shuts off.

There usually isn't much lag on a supercharger anyways, though, cuz the belts are already going... it's got other loss issues... T/C's have spool up delays cuz it's run off the exhaust.

does a supercharger just build up pressure in the throttle body, cause i believe higher pressure causes for a stronger combustion in the chamber, my conflict is how a supercharger actually works. i highly doubt i'd do any of this stuff to my xd, fist of all, i wouldn't make much of an improvement, and it's my only car, im just gonna save up and get another toy.

Both and SC and TC boost the amount of air, just in different ways... DO A SEARCH- both SC and TCs have been installed on XDs... You can learn principles and what's required and why.
