I didnt even know there were laws against buying certain paints. Perhaps you should try another store, Ive never had problems buying any of the above.

^^^ I think most states in the country are making you be 18 to buy anything aeresol - paint, spray adhesive, etc. I know I get carded everytime I buy spraypaint anywhere... come to think of it, they ask for ID more when I buy paint, than when I buy beer (I'm almost 26).

wal-mart can be complete a-holes over carding people. I'm 21 and was trying to get some power-steering fluid for my girlfriends civic because it was leaking, I left my wallet in the car and they wouldn't sell it to me without ID. Sorry but I've never heard of anyone snorting, inhaling, smoking, injecting, or vandalizing anyone else's property with power steering fluid.
Had a similar problem at target but the lady wanted id because I was using my debt card. She threatened to not give it back unless I showed ID but the only problem is she didn't have the card so I grabbed my items and left.

I actually think its a good idea to card for media stuff like games and movies. There's too many disturbed and impressionable kids in the world.

I agree. Lot's of stupid content out there that is messing up already disturbed kids.
BUT
How many people here had older friends who would buy them things that you couldn't get when underage?? I don't do it anymore because it's stupid (sorry to anyone who does) but when I was younger I had an older friend who would buy cigarettes for us...back when we thought it was cool and what not. Just for an example. Carding doesn't stop people from getting things, just makes them take an extra 10 minutes to find someone who will help them break the rules. Not to mention fake ID's, which I never had, but I knew 500 people that did have them. Crazy.

it starts at home with the family and not at the counter with a clerk carding or not carding. can't expect others (schools, media, businesses) to raise your kid properly for you or even with you and make sure they don't grow up being "disturbed". carding IMO is very ineffective. whoever really wants to get something that the law says they're too young to have will get it most of the time. so instead of focusing on the symptoms the focus should be on underage youths not having the desire to get what they are too young for. and that's where the parents play the main role by getting involved and keeping their kids busy with things like sports, hobbies, school. that's my 2 cents.
p.s reread this and...wow do i sound like a party pooper...but seriously can't blame the disturbed kids on others.

WTF!
I got carded at wallie-mart for those little nitro snappers.I never get carded for alcomahol but get carded for dumb stuff

I understand carding for alcohol, porn, guns, etc... and to another extent the reason for which you have to card for paint, but why the hell do you have to card for power steering fluid? god forbid a 16 yo id has a leak and would like to not have to wrestle the steering wheel at every turn. I think stores take it to the extreme when it comes to carding. If you want to get high off of white-out, go ahead and die, If some idiot (regardless of age) wants to go out and snort anything they can get there hands on, they weren't going to be that productive to society anyways.

meh, wal-mart is just trying to cover their pocket books
Oh that and you cant buy cold meds either.Me and my g/f was in there and she needed some robitussin and they wouldnt sell it to her because she didnt have her id on her,so I had to buy it.The woman said that people can convert it to meth and I told her that no one in this town is smart enough to do that. Some things are just getting out of hand.I wonder like someone said earlier,if you were under 18 and you need some p/s fluid and they wouldn't sell it to you and you got into a accident, could you to an extent hold a place like that somewhat responsible?

You'ld be surprised how many meth labs there are. Any dumb *** can cook meth and try and sell it.
In the little town I grew up in they had a moble meth lab (old chevy van) blow-up in the parking lot of the Wal-mart.

i would've actually like to have been there and seen it blow up... just to see the look on other people's faces that knew it as the "meth" van

they busted a meth lab out in buckeye lake last year or the year before. right on 79 between millersport rd and the south/west end of buckeye lake

Hows 5 bucks sound?
I wouldn't want to be anywhere near that stuff, Three firefighters were threated for fumes, and one spent a little time in the hospital. The fumes from a lab is extremely toxic, former meth lab houses usually have to be torn down and the materials treated as toxic waste.

sorry but if the firefighters succumbed to the fumes, then they did their job improperly, i've fought one meth fire so far, and as long as your SCBA(self contained Breathing Apparatus) is on correctly, you can't breath in anything but the air in your tank... but a lot of firefighters are lazy with their safty equipment now... so sorry but most likley their own fault

Paint laws are getting absurd. Plus, Walmart is now asking more and more for zipcodes and phone numbers. Why do they need to know this? Why can't they just let people be? And since when is it Walmarts problem that people are huffing? If someone bought a gun and bullets at walmart and killed another peron, would wal-mart be responsible? No sense...
