So does anyone have pics of a XD2 (04-06) GLS with the Front Mask on? Im considering getting one since I hit a lot of road debris (bugs, rocks, even a random flying hubcap once that left a nasty bruise!), so that would be its function but also I looked at the picture of it in the Hyundai Parts Brochure and I think it looked pretty good... Plus it might go well with my Black rims (pics in my profile link). So any pics or comments would help. Also it goes for about 120USD at the dealer, so if you know a way of getting the SAME item for cheaper please share.

Edit: Just found this exact same pic that saw before.

bah i never liked those, here's why...

People buy them to protect their car... But if you want to protect your car then you will never take the bra off... So basically the paint you are protecting will never be seen by other people/you LOL

Yes I know it's O/T but i've meant to say this to everyone with a bra, because to me bras just don't make sense and hide the fun (yeah, you too girls).

Plus dirt and debris get trapped under/inside the mask and when you take it off:
1) There's tons of scratches on the paint made by the mask that it hid,
2) The paint under the mask and not under the mask doesn't match anymore cuz the unmasked stuff has faded.

On a side note, I have a friend who got that protective film put on the front of the hood around the same footprint as the mask... Unfortunately, that film stuff blocks UV, so you can see a fade line in the paint too...
Scratches, chips, dents etc (sh*t) happens to cars. It's a fact of driving. I stressed over it for ~6 months and now it doesn't bother me any more. I still try to touch up chips and such when I can, and wash it once a week or so, but I've learned to live to minor stuff like that.

Well I have that Optional Teflon Clear Coat from the Dealer when I purchased the car... Would that help prevent Fading significantly?

a bra only looks good when you have front end damage to hide.

Well i do have a scuff mark on my bottom driver side from that hub cap but i think if i did get it, id keep it year round and only take it off to periodically clean the dirt inside. So the faded paint would never be seen... but thats if i like how it goes on my car.

well, maybe to stop the fading, we could make a group buy on some of that all over bra stuff that they use in the spy pics... :D

I have the clearshield film on my car and it is invisible unless you look for it. The idea is you have to maintain the paint to keep it looking new.

With a bra, you have to regularly remove it to clean under it. Most people leave it on and forget it is there. It has to be washed as well.

I have one on my dad's GT and my mom's Sonata. They are fine but you have to take them off every 2 weeks or so and clean them. Otherwise they can cause rust from moisture that gets stuck in them. Also, try ebay, I picked the Sonata's up for $50 and the GT's for $85

Found a site that sells this Leather Mask ($84+shipping) aswell:
www.youhyundaiparts.com (http://www.yourhyundaiparts.com/index.cgi?PageToView=catalog&Department=196288&Cartid=21321135229097&Merchant=yourhyundaipartscom&ExpandedDepts=196240|196145|196147)
Its based in NJ and sell a lot of OEM parts cheaper than a regular dealer, but I don't know about their shipping.
