`Chrome` headlights for `04 - `05 Elantra from EvoFusion.

Hey guys, has anyone bought these? They are the Korean spec headlights which dont have the amber lens, I can land a pair here in Au for around 330 AUD, Which is tempting, anyone bought them and have a piccy? :)

I have them for my XD. They are OEM parts, so the quality is there and I haven't had any problems. I didn't get mine from EF (there weren't even EF back then), but I'm sure you can't go wrong. Some people think this mod is too expensive, but I think it looks good on most color cars. Go for it.

And, you can probably sell your OEM ones on here or eBay for a good amount.

KK, these ones I`m looking at have a clear indicator lens, or appear to have.. Also, I`d personally keep my originals, refit them at sale time ( long way off btw.. ) and then sell the clear lens jobbies.. More research will follow! Thanks, guys.. edit: Wish i could find a pic of a Korean Elantra 2005 that, for sure, has the clear lens as opposed to the amber ones :( Though, the thing wasnt loading properly, I`ll check again later..

Right lens can be seen clearer.
It'll cost a lot of dough to get the KDM headlights, I suggest e-mailing dreamka4u for a quote.
I also suggest the great ilanpro headlight mod which clears the headlights, check my member profile, just did it last weekend and I'm very happy with it.
FYI I've got a spare RightHandSide headlight assembly including globes never ovened, for $60 if you want to do some testing.

Addendum: See how much an electroplating place will charge you to chrome the black pieces. I BET it'll be half the cost of buying them from korea mate. I was going to do this, but then I noticed that the Ferrari F430 goes with the flat black styling on the inner bezel, so why should I? :D :tongue:

Okay, EvoFusion quotes $215 USD, I emailed `em, they saying 35 postage to `ere. My Money exchange rate doover says 329 Aussie peso`s delievered to me.. Food for thought, I am an old digger, so I dont like irreversable mods, thats just me, okay I could stick the amber lens back in, but I have always craved a clear lens... The internal bits on the EvoFusion jobs seem to be black too, I dunno where the `chrome` tag comes from..I dunno bout a chrome insert, my car is white, black looks cool, body colour white would like a bit 80`s.. Chrome? I unno... Early days yet, I got xmas to pay for...

Aight, after trolling thru the Korean Hyundai site ( it`s a bit clunky, but looks okay) I found out that it appears the sedan headlight assembly ( `05 Elantra, Avante, Nympho, whatever ) has Chrome interior and an Amber lens, the Hatch or 5 door has a Black interior and a clear lens, Which begs the obvious question is the lens available by itself? No matter, I`ll buy the whole assembly if at all... ;) The Racing hatch seems to have the tib gauge set, and what appears to be a cruise friendly strut brace.. Its a frickin`strut brace, either way!

KK: I just think it looks a lil untidy, with just the lens removed. I `m in no way knocking the guys that have it this way, it just doesnt suit me. But! after seeing the Korean spec `Racing` spec hatch, why oh why dont they ALL have the Tib guages and a strut bar????? Although the Aussis `FX` model, man they came out about 5 minutes after I bought my base model hatch, for 1500 bucks more you get : cruise, ABS, leather covered wheel and shift knob, the centre console and rear centre armrest, and the dash fascia and door bits around the window controls are gunmetal grey, exactly the colour I wanna paint mine, life is cruel....

Well for one... I dont have the balls to take apart my headlights...
pretty soon however, i plan on doing this cuz i hate the amber lens~!

I see, you just want the black ones with the clear lens, that makes sense. You said chrome and I thought you wanted the chrome, but I looked at them again and the chrome for the XD2 has the yellow/amber lens like you mentioned.

Super: Oddly, EvoFusion bills them as `Chrome Headlights for `04 - `05 Elantra` It had me confused too, but the pic EF has is lifted straight form the Hyundai Motor corp Korea site of the 5 door hatch `Racing`.. Man is that site ever clunky, glad my car isnt as hit and miss :P...

Oh I see. Looks like you have those LED replacements too. hmmm interesting.

What did it take to open up the headlights...heat, dremmel, crowbar?
