hi.. i'm thinking in a proyect to put a PC on my car... looking for options i would like to know how many DINs (on dash) i have on my car...
i think that only one because i have the alpine RADIO-CD and the other hole between the ALpine and AC controls its imposible to fit any thing like a another radio.
Somebody have installed in dash 2 dispositives like a motorized tft and a dvd player?
also im looking to put the tft in other place... but.. where??
some ideas?
^^' mine its a elantra 05

I'm a PC guy myself, but a Mac Mini is almost exactly DIN size. Seems like a nice, low-hassle choice.

if i were to do i'd do something like this (some modification required)

or what sed did. this requires HVAC relocation

i fu can see my dash.. between actual CD and AC CONTROLS there is a small hole... i think that the "ALPINE" its bigger than others cd players... what do u think? i think that wont fit 2 things...
Then if fit... the plastic parts... arent the correct to fit 2 things (DIN size)
i have thought that a motorized in dash tft would be the best option.... but the most expensive because i only see 1 model that have all that i want... 7''TFT+4*45w sound output"+touchable+VGA IN+RADIO.. but it cost about 300-500$...
The other option is a tft in dash but NO-VGA... only 2 video IN-no touchable and another dispositive with the dvd player,radio,etc.... but i would need 2 DINS but for abou 200-300$ i would have all i need.. only pc remaining.
the worst point of this option is to connect the PC with a normal VIDEO input.

tomorrow i will get a photo of my dash... because i think there is more space on 02-04 model that in 05 model...
and what about plastic parts...

you remove the cubby slot, and put in the other in-dash unit.

looks like you have electronic climate control unlike all US spec models. and i guess it's bigger in size than our hvac. that's why the cuby is smaller. again with some custom molding you could fit a permanent screen (not flip up) and your headunit if you get rid of the center vents, relocate emergency blingers and get rid of the clock. actually if you're going with the carputer you don't even need a headunit unless you really like your radio. connect the soundcard to the amp and control the volume from the carputer. check http://www.mp3car.com/ actually from what i've read with some work you can even get rid of the hvac and use the front end carputer software to control the fan, vents and temp. good luck and keep us updated

"good luck and keep us updated"
i' ll do it
this is my dash:
http://personal.telefonica.terra.es/web/grandelibre/EXD/dash.jpg
im trying to do the cheaper option... then i see that u can get a
TFT motorized+DVD..mp3..vcd..etc+4*45-50Wetc... about 150-300$ and if i try to get connected the pc with a normal VIDEO INPUT to a 100hz TV and it seems that the pc output image its good i will forget the option to buy a VGA+TOUCHABLE tft.
i dont want to do big changes on my dash because it would be more expensive.
then i'll post all my questions about...:
actually, i have a 4*45W audio system... if i connect a new cd-tuner with a 4*50w output can be a problem?? and connectig with a 4*40W?¿?
and... about doing changes on my dash:
Is there any shop or place to get a plastic part to mod my dash? because i think that if i change any on my dash, the finish.. will be bad
