Has anyone had any experience with these?
in particular, does anyone know if this would fit/work with our auto shifters?:

I'm also contemplating the Razo quickshift knob, but this ebay one is cheaper and I like the Momo ball look rather than the razo barrel...

Very interested in shortening to about 1/2" above the panel, so it looks like it just glides across. Need a DIY. Thanks

all you need to do is just cut down the stock tube and re-drill some holes for the stock screws to go

am here just busy i work as a user support tech so will try to get pictures this weekend but to cut the tube is easy used small pipe cutter you can get at home depot
it will cut the outer layer tubing and then this is the tricky part to get the right hight of the shaft in the center cause if you cut to much then it wont engage.

Well, you could use a pipe cutter and just cut the outer tube (not the chrome piece which I think is just a plastic sleeve, but the actual main outer tube). The outside chrome piece you can probably just cut with a hacksaw (tape around the cut with a couple of layers of transparent tape and saw through the tape). I don't know about the lock mechanism rod itself though. There's trapezoidal piece of plastic on the rod that fits into the pushbutton of the stock knob. To keep using the stock knob, you need that plastic piece cuz in addition to letting the knob press down the rod, it also keeps the knob from falling out. I don't know if it's threaded on or sonically welded or what. If it's threaded, you could potentially unthread it, cut down the push rod to length, rethread the rod and twist that plastic piece back on.
If you're going aftermarket, you can probably just cut everything...
For me though, I don't know if the upper plastic piece is compatible (i.e. too big) with the push-down knobs, so if it screws off, that would rock...
Or you can go really rice, and install a cable that disengages the lock mechanism that's controlled by a fake clutch pedal, and use any old knob, really. ;)

it goes down about a 1/4 of an inch just enough to engage. i dont have pic of how i did it cause i didnt think about it but like i said you need a small pipe cutter and bolt cutters, the hardest part is measuring cause one u cut theres no turning back. you will have to see how far the shifter you got goes down and also the center pole the one that makes the transmission engage dont cut that one short or you will be screwed.

that is so awesome. im doing this as soon as im confident i know what im doing. ok lemme get this straight-
i need a small pipe cutter to cut the chrome outer shaft- check- seems easy
how did you cut the bar in the middle i remember it has an angled piece of metal at the top, did you take out the entire shifter assembly? or can this be done without removing it?
what were the exact measurments you used?
- u dont understand man i have been DYING to do this since the day i got the car. :D
oh happy day-
edit- is that a carbon fiber dash kit i see in that pic, very nice man.

well the angle plastic piece i didnt have to use any more cause the shaft in the middle was what i used to push down on now the plastic piece is only need cause on our original shifter it was a side button that was what that was for. you dont really need that to shift it so what i used to cut it down was some bolt cutter. the tricky part is measuring. depending on how far you want to go down like mine is probably the max cause if i would of gone down even a 1/4 of inch then it would work so be conservitive and allow for some adjustment . depending on the shifter buy the sifter first then when you get it it remove the old one then put the new sifter on top just to see how far it will have to go down. one you get that then you can take the plastic triangle thing off and then test fit again. and see how far it goes down. then when your ready cut the outer layer first dont go to low but close to where you want it . then take the measurement of how far down it has to be pushed and add that to the top of the cut that you just made. so now when you mount the shifter the middle shaft is taller then the outer shaft. which will now go down when you press the top of the shifter. allowing you to shift into gear. if this is confusing will try to draw a picture. later tommorrow. And yess that is a carbon fiber dash kit
