Well, regardless of what others think, I like it, mainly because I have the same colors. Ocean Blue outside with tan cloth interior. Although now I have gray leather interior.
EDIT: You must have posted that last pic as I was typing this! That looked like a bad wreck, I hope I'm not jinxed (sp?) now.

Nice, I am not a big Fan of White wheels, They are white right? I really liked my 01 What springs are those??
aLoNe I bReAk
12-04-2005, 01:55 AM
No they are not white. They are actually silver, 17" Konig Tantrums. I have no idea why they look white in the pic, must have something to do with the camera settings, at the time I only had my camera for about 2 weeks so I was still new to digi cams. Also, that is the only pic I have of the full car to date, but trust me, they are not white. Springtechs.

All you need is Tint and Paint the calipers

Yea, funny you mentioned that. I have an appointment next friday for tint. And snow season is here, so I will be throwing my stock steelies back on for a few months. I have a propane heater for my garage, so while I swap wheels, I was planning on painting them calipers in the process. I don't really have any particular color scheme, what do you think will look good? I was thinking just black, but I'm open to suggestions. And I apologize for the thread jack.

You have drums in the back right? So i would suggest only black. :hijacked:

Ahh, Ilan, the good old days, huh?
Doesn't seem like it was that long ago. It was one of the nicer XD's, but I still like your XD2 a lot better. Keep up the good work.

Yeah I'm working on it. To be quite honest, I haven't really felt the need to have a profile. Everything I've done to my car has been done/seen before, so truthfully there really is no point. Maybe I'll make one someday if I ever do anything custom.

Yea Ilan, that grill was badass. I'm gonna agree with alot of people here and say that your XD2 is just as tight. I wish I could re-paint my 01 in Tidal Wave if I had the money

Ilan.......I always wanted to ask you about those quarter panel signal markers........they seem to have some kind of indentation like they were factory stock. When I added them to mine, I had to cut the holes but the entire light fit over the hole so you cannot see any kind of identation as it appears on yours.....or is that just a shadow I am seeing? Did they come with the car like the Aussie version? Or was it a Mod?

It was a mod, I believe he did it when the old site was open (Archive section now).

Hopefully I don't offend your current car, but I liked the old one better. I think it's just because I'm biased towards the XD1 over the XD2 though. Your current XD2 is badass, don't get me wrong - there's just the special place in my heart for the XD1.
On the topic of painting rear drums - I did mine a plain silver, and it doesn't look bad - just looks like a clean aluminum part. I will say silver and black are the only 2 possibilities without screaming "LOOK AT MY DRUM BRAKES!" If you do silver, beware that you will probably have to touch it up once a year (if you live in an area where you have winter conditions).
