An Alternative I've read someone do in a previous thread was custom attach the nozzles to the wipers.

I don't know where to look first, maybe even to a junkyard, but I would suggest that if you are considering putting them onto the wiper blades, you should look at Pontiac Montana or similar systems. The nozzles clip right onto the wiper blades and put a nice even spray across the whole windshield.

Yes at the moment I'm trying to find that thread as well.... with no luck, but its somewhere. Sorry I searched but nothing turned up yet. I'm sure someone else recalls this. I forgot who did it but its totally possible and its a feature that comes factory on some cars (i forget those aswell lol)

Yes, you see what I've been preaching this whole time.... thanks for understanding but I hope someone chimes in to give you a better opinion on those nozzles/wipers.

how about going to a junk yard and finding a car with them on the wipers and just ask if you can buy whatever you need off the car you find with them to do this project. I dunno if this will help but i tried.

FYI: A pletiful junkyard car that can help you here is the Pontiac Sunfire. It has little nozzles that simply clip onto the wiper arm. Unplug the fluid line and take those off. On your car, simply clip them onto the wiper arm - then all you need to do is attach the fluid line and you're ready to go. Depending on the length of the tubing in your car, you might need to extend them by a little bit. In all this should be a less-than $10 project, which is much better than possibly messing up a $600 hood with a drilling accident.

I have a couple of those that clip on the wiper arms and some tubing to connect them. ;) I gotta search for them through all the car parts boxes I have stashed in the garage.

interesting... i think i get what oiboy is getting at... like make a housing for them and just cut into the hood and install the nozzles and put the housing over and paint to match the hood or car, or whatever
am i close to what you're saying oiboy989?

drilling CF is very easy, you won't F*** anything up.
Pilot hole / Predrill with a smaller bit, then use the proper size bit to finish it off.

There are universal kits out there for wiper attachment though. I got mine from Canadian Tire. I'm sure an Autozone or similar will have them though.

Like carbonman said, drilling CF isn't too hard. My cousin had to drill his CF hood to install hood pins, which in my opinion is much harder to do because your hole has to line up with your pin, whereas the windshield washer nozzle only requires a small hole in order for you to "clip" it into the hood.

I'm sure most people have the capability to drill a simple hole in their CF hood, but the thought of ruining a brand new hood you just spent hundreds on is intimidating.

Also I forgot to mention:

Drilling holes in a C/F hood = More Weight Reduction!!!!

Yeah, micro ounces.

Tape the area to prevent fraying and delamination, and if it is flat enough, clamp wood on each side of it to prevent fraying. Drill right through the wood with the CF in between. Once you're done, use some two-part epoxy to seal the inside of the hole, again to prevent delamination.

yeah that's exactly what i am looking to do. you know i was looking to drop 1/1000's of an ouce from the hood area. ctele your a genius. i think i will do what you all said and hunt down a pontiac sunfire for its wiper mounted sprayers. i know its not hard to drill but i really don't wanna f-up the clear coat, or end up with a bad chip on a brand new hood. plus i like the sleekness.

When ya puttin sideskirts on?

menallychllngd
01-04-2006, 12:31 AM
soon or maybe after winter. of course they don't fit right and the shop that put the kit on didn't prefit them before painting them. i am deciding on whether or not to do it myself. which leads into my next thread "is there a better way to trim a finished bodykit than with a razor knife?"
