Hello all!
Last weekend - my friend called me and told me that he have a new idea!
He comes to me: he told that he want to create a new rock band! But he don't know how! He have only money but he love Rock music. I want to make it too. (Not bad idea, maybe something new in life) So what can you tell?
Your opinion, help!
P.S.
He written a litle song while I write this post (not full version).
I'll show it to you:
I was lost inside my problems
And everyday the same mistakes
I don't know why I can't see them
Why I can't start to do something
I thought it comes to me someday
But I was wait it for so long
Chorus
So now I figure out one thing
That only I can make it right
And only I can find my way
I know I done it anyway

love the lyrics... but im more into "foregin" music... if the lyrics were in russian, that would be awesome. i myself am in a rock band (more metal) im singer in a band called XIII Rising. We sound a lot like the band atreyu.
if you want an idea on what you want the band to sound like, listen to a lot of your favorite bands/artists and learn their songs first. once you play the songs that you know and love, start to "mimic" them and write songs that sound like them. over time, you will start to create your own "sound" and sure, it may not be music that others may like, but you will, and that's all that matters. that is what metallica did and look at them now. me personally, i write a lot of poetry and that turns into songs.
one way to write a song (the easiest that ive found) is to write the instrumental, and let the lyrics come to you later. sorry for the long reply, but i hope this helps.
here is a poem of mine that was turned into a song:
Flakes Of Snow
I find myself alone in the cold. The snow staind red and pink, bodies all around. Its cold. I shudder, but feel nothing. Looking across the field I notice the carnage. Did I do that? All of it? What did I do? Oh God...
Loved ones all around me. I can barely see the ground anymore. I'm spiralling out of control. Darkness takes me in it's gentle caress. Down. What did I do? Oh God...
Each of us different. Ending with the same fate. Aren't we lucky? Flakes of snow stick to my shoulder. My cold shoulder. The world gave it to me. I return the favor.
I awake. lying in a pool of red. Quiet. Not a sound but the crunch of snow buckling under my shifting weight. Covered in former life I light a cigarette and continue on my way. Leaving all that I have done. All that I have lost.

Your lyrics are super! Thank you. Our lyrics was written on English! Why they are awesome! I figure out it too - lyrics should be created after music. About music I listen for every day - Nickelback Linkin Park Avril Lavigne 3Doors Down DDT!!! and something more. What should we buy to start learn Rock Music

just keep on listening to what you like and try to learn their songs...
just to give you an example, when i used to play guitar, i first learned how to play a few offspring songs then i moved on to things that were a bit more complicated. now i can play just about anything, but ive since given up guitar and done vocals. just stick with it... it all pays off in the end.
if you are familiar with a group called Good Charolette, they are from Baltimore, Maryland, US. i used to listen to them practice a lot when i went there and they are now huge. there were times when they didnt want to play anymore, but look at them now! if you just stick with it, that could be you and your friend one day.

Good Sharlot - good band. I'll try to learn it. Thanks.
Today I try to create lyrics to:
Time fly so fast, it won't me wait
Tomorrow it can be too late
So I should wake up, start to fight
I don't know when, but it be right
You are for me like brightly star
No matter that you still so far
You will light up my clear way
You know I'll done it anyway
I want to ask you one question:
What should we buy to organize full band (guitar e.t.s.) , and please tell me the price. Of cause I mean only good equipment.
Thanks!

Patience and friendship. That's what you need to make a band. So many startup bands lack those two key things. Other than that; allot of money. ;)

I had a band last year that did very well, but we had issues with our singer (got us kicked out of 5 venues and got us banned) so yea we spilt. But we played some of the bigger venues here in Mesa AZ. Psycho Therapy was our name. I still have our CD somewhere but the recording sucked ***. We sounded a lot like As I Lay Dying (donno if u know them if not GO DOWNLOAD THEM!) =D
