How do I fix rust spots?

Hey I remember reading about fixing rust in some posts a while ago and i know about taking it to a bodyshop but I have these tiny rust spots and want to take care of them if i can before they spread.

they are really tiny from the paint chipping but they annoy me. Is there anything I can do to fix it or is the bodyshop the only solution?

They are easy to fix.. the hard part is matching the paint and blending it out. All you need is some good quality sand paper primer paint and clear coat. Depending on how deep the chip is you might pick up some bit of Bondo to smooth out the surface. You could probably get it pretty close yourself but if you are really picky or show your car you'd be better off with a shop painting it.

bondo? do you see how tiny those are? that one pic its inside the H logo on his trunk (im assuming). i would say hit it with some fine sandpaper and get some touchup paint

Bondo just in case you go too deep with the sandpaper or the chips are deeper than they appear ... you probably don't need it but I threw in the worst case solution.

I did a chip on my Blazer a few years back and Bondo'd for ~1/16" deep chip. That's just me being anal and not wanting to build up the paint and primer to cover the void.

What about the rust inhibitor spray that eats away at the small pockets of rust and then it turns red (it's for spots in unseen spots like your trunk). A friend of mine had tiny spots like I am seeing formed under my trunk and he sprayed it. It's clear or something close to clear and then it eats the rust and it paints over in red. Then you go over it and get it properly painted... seems to work. Apparently it's like $6 at Canadian Tire. I'm gonna get some and do it after I detail my car this weekend.
